My hair is longer and healthier than ever thanks to my DIY oil – I recreated a sold-out viral product using Ross buys
A BEAUTY guru has revealed she rapidly grew her hair in two months after using a homemade oil.
She decided to experiment with DIY haircare after a product that she usually buys was sold out in store.
Hira Genc (@hiraliciouss) has garnered over 80,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty tips.
She shared a snap of her hair taken two months ago as she compared it to more recent images of herself.
“Healthiest my hair has ever been,” she said, as she showed her now long and voluminous tresses.
“I have used the Mielle before and I loved it but it was sold out everywhere,” she said.
Hira, whose hair is naturally curly, had been using Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil, which is available on Amazon for $9.
“I read the ingredients and it was basically a bunch of oils good for your hair,” she said. “So I mixed my own variety of oils.
“100% almond oil as a carrier oil,” she said filling a small bottle halfway with the ingredient.
“I also use almond oil after a shower on my body and it’s chef’s kiss.”
Handcraft Blends Sweet Almond Oil costs $10 on Amazon.
“Amla oil, if you know you know,” she said pouring at least two tablespoons into the bottle.
“About 10 pumps of castor oil.
“Now the star of the show, rosemary essential oil.
“This thing is very potent so don’t ever apply it without mixing it with a carrier oil,” she said adding a drop into the bottle.
“Happy growing.”
“Somebody please count how many times I said oil [laughing],” Hira captioned the post.
“Also I have everything I used on my storefront except the castor oil, I got it from Ross lol.”
Amla oil is available on Amazon for $15, an alternative castor oil is $10 and rosemary essential oil is sold by the retailer for $15.
Over 49,000 people liked the video and it racked up hundreds of comments from people raving about the recipe.
“Amla oil is life-changing,” one person wrote. “Almond oil is sooo underrated,” another said.
The hair oil recipe comes after an article published by Health shared researchers’ findings about rosemary oil.
