World’s ‘first and only’ electric muscle car that can hit 60mph in just 3.3 SECONDS is finally revealed

AMERICAN car giant Dodge has unveiled the world's "first and only" electric muscle car.

The Charger Daytona EV promises to hit 0-60mph in an eye-watering 3.3 seconds.

Boasting a 400V propulsion system that’s said to deliver “supercharged V-8 performance”.

This gives the beast 670 horsepower and instant torque.

What’s more, the model comes packed with features like PowerShot which injects a 40 hp boost.

Also built in are high-performance brakes, brake-by-wire eBoost and a multi-link suspension.

But one of the coolest features are multitude of driving settings which include donut, drift line lock, launch control and race prep, to name but a few.

Such add-ons combine to make the new Charger Daytona EV the "world's quickest and most powerful muscle car".

And you need not worry about the battery, which Dodge claim can recharge from 20 to 80 percent in “just 27 minutes.”

The Dodge Charger Daytona EV has a range of 317 miles on a full charge.

The higher performance Scat Pack model will take give you 260 miles.

As for the looks, the car sticks to tradition by incorporating a front R-wing which allows airflow through a pass-through area on the front to enhance down force.

There’s also a full-length LED front light bar and round the back a red “ring of fire” LED tail lamp.

Inside, you'll find a 10.2-inch driver display - also available in 16-inch - and a 12.3-inch centre infotainment screen.

The performance steering wheel is a flat top and bottom design while paddle shifters offer regenerative braking levels.

The PowerShot button on the right of the wheel will give you an 15 seconds of 40hp oomph as you push the car to its limits.

The Dodge Charger Daytona EV will go into production in mid-2024 and prices are expected to start at £43,200

Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said: “The electrified 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack delivers Charger Hellcat Redeye levels of performance and announces its presence through the world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust.”
