The sensual ‘tabletop’ pose that celebs like Liz Hurley, 59, and Amanda Holden, 53, use to prove sexy has no age limit

THERE’S all sorts of things celebs can do that us normal folk can’t, such as charter private jets, stay in luxurious five star hotels and splurge in Selfridges.

But another, more bizarre choice some have latched onto involves hoisting themselves onto a table for an Insta-worthy snap - and nobody bats an eyelid when they do.

The “sensual” tabletop pose has become a favourite amongst female celebrities, especially those in their forties and beyond.

Why? Because it allows them to “enjoy their own sensuality and feel empowered by it”, says body language expert, Judi James.

On multiple campaign shoots for her supplement brand Lemme, 45-year-old Kourtney Kardashian has stretched herself out on tables.

Amanda Holden, 53, also loves to strike the same pose before she joins the air waves at Heart Radio.

In fact, it’s her go-to when posting videos from the station’s central London office, where she uses it as an opportunity to promote clothes from her Lipsy collection.

Model Elizabeth Hurley, 59, also loves to lounge on tables in the name of a good snap.

We've seen her "tabletop" in a number of photo shoots.

Her love for the pose dates back as far as 2010, with one raunchy photoshoot for her eponymous swimwear line including her crawling across the metal counter in a professional kitchen.

More recently, she’s adapted the pose to fit in with her sauna sessions - and it’s attracting mass attention on social media

“These tabletop poses are ideal for celebrities who have hit their forties and even fifties,” Judi tells Fabulous

Celebrity Power Moves: Mastering the 'Hand in Pocket' Pose

“It helps them feel confident and in control of their branding.

“They are taking charge of their own femininity without resorting to cheesy thirst trap-type poses.”

Judi thinks there is subliminal sexual messaging in the pose - with each celebrity adopting it proving that you can be sexy no matter your age.

“Lying on a table to pose might be uncomfortable but it links in with some classic sexual fantasies,” she explains.

Other Poses that Celebs Love

From getting steamy in the bathroom to showing off their assets in a refreshingly cool outdoor shower, celebs love baring all for Instagram in a shower snap.

Others are adopting the a new "power stance" - including Molly-Mae Hague and Rochelle Humes.

The casual but clever posture, which sees them stand with one hand in their pocket, is "sassy" and "self-assured", says Judi James.

Some female celebs are even breaking down beauty standards with their poses.

This summer, a trend emerged of famous women keeping it real and embracing every inch of their curves by making their belly rolls a feature in their social media snaps.

“There’s always that scene in the movies where the couple throws all the plates and food onto the floor to have sex on the kitchen table.

“It’s a hint of naughty, urgent, spontaneous ‘can’t wait’ sexual fun and although these celebs are posing alone, the hint is still there.”

Especially in the case of model Elizabeth, female celebrities hoisting themselves up on the counter for a picture are ensuring they get a good snap without overdoing it, Judi says.

“It allows them to create ‘cat-stretch’ poses that imply they’re enjoying their own sensuality and feeling empowered by it,” she adds.

“It’s more natural than over-working the camera to make a sexual pitch to the fans and public.

“In terms of the question, ‘do you think I’m sexy?’, these self assured, statement poses show women who are not asking, they’re telling.”
