The ‘drape & clip’ trick which will stop your car freezing up overnight for GOOD – & you can do it completely for free

A NEW trick could finally put a stop to your car freezing up overnight - and it wont cost you a penny.

The hack involves buying a cover for your car - but quick-thinking viewers claim there's no need to part with hard-earned cash to take advantage of it.

Posting the clip online, Niall Orourke shows viewers a neat little car-cover that he drapes over his motor and securely clips on.

He said: "Niall here, and as you can see my car is starting to freeze.

"I've got something that can hopefully help me avoid that in the future because it's an absolute nightmare to unfreeze this thing in the morning."

He then runs to his boot and brings out a windscreen cover - shows his audience how to apply it - then signs off telling them he'll see them in the morning.

The video then cuts to a frosty morning the next day and Niall is seen front and centre to see if his experiment worked.

He said: "As you can see, it's the next morning, let's see if it worked."

Niall then removes the cover and his car is visibly ready to hit the road with no need to stand waiting for it to defrost - but eagle-eyed viewers jumped in the comments to let him know that he didn't need to buy a cover to reap the same benefit.

One user, said: "A piece of cardboard or an old towel does the same job, costs no money."

But a second user quickly snapped back in disagreement, they said: "until it rains and then you have wet cardboard frozen to your windshield."

Moments later the clever commenter responded, they said: "If it's cold enough for a frost it's highly unlikely to rain.

"Even so, it's a glassy surface, any cardboard deposit will slide straight off.

"In any case, a towel works and doesn't cost a penny."

So, for anyone looking for a new way to keep their car defrosted overnight - and save vital minutes in the morning - a piece of cardboard and a towel might be the answer.

It's not the only hack Brits are discovering online - and although they may not work for everyone - for some they can be a godsend when managing a busy schedule.

Just a few months ago one motorist found a cheap hack to keep your car smelling fresh all year round.

Influencer Mila told her followers that the citrus oil helps to "clean leather" but more importantly "makes your car smell amazing".

And another driver threw their hack online to help drivers with their daily car struggles - expert mechanic Jeremy revealed a little-known fuel hack that could save you hundreds while filling up.
