How you can make a white Creme Egg at home if you’re not lucky enough to snaffle one of the few racing off the shelves

CHOCOLATE fans all over the country have been racing to B&M to try and get their hands on a white Creme Egg.

But for those not lucky enough to snaffle one, chef Johnny Marsh has shared how you can make one yourself at home.

It was revealed this week that the eggs were back in B&M, with the discount store selling a five-pack Creme Egg box - containing two classic Creme Eggs, one White Chocolate Creme Egg, and two Caramel Eggs.

The box can also be purchased on Cadbury's website for £3.45, but unsurprisingly, it's currently out of stock.

The news of the Creme Egg return was welcomed by foodies, but many were left disappointed when they found they were sold out in their local store.

So Johnny's recipe to concoct some of the sweet treats at home, which he shared on TikTok, is sure to be welcomed by chocolate lovers.

While his recipe is for a normal Creme Egg, you could easily make it a white one just by changing the type of chocolate you use.

Begin by placing the chocolate over a bain marie - bring up to 45 degrees, chill to 27 and then heat back up to 30.

Once the chocolate is nice and melted, put it in the mould, knock out the excess and scrape it clean.

Measure out 360g of icing sugar, and put half of that into a mixing bowl.

Add 60g of butter, a vanilla pod and 160g of glucose syrup.

Start mixing, and add in the remainder of the icing sugar, and three tablespoons of stock syrup (homemade sugar syrup).

Split that mixture in half, and add orange or yellow food colouring to one half.

After knocking the shells out of the mould, "really carefully", fill it with two thirds of the white mixture, with one third of the yellow.

Using a hot pan, gently tap the side of the egg onto the warm surface to melt it enough to stick the two halves together.

"There you have it!" Johnny concluded.
