‘What’s wrong with people?’ Trolls shame woman who admits she only washes her bra once a YEAR – but what do you do?
WE are all guilty of wearing clothes for longer than we should, especially on the weekends.
One woman has shocked social media but revealing that her friend only washes her bra once a year (yes, you read that right).
If your laundry is piling up right now, you can probably feel a bit better after reading how rarely some people wash their clothes.
The shocking admission came from Tiktok star Desyr, who has made a name for herself on the app with her love of fashion.
Taking a break from her usual content, the influencer and entrepreneur admitted that she’d been shocked to learn about her friend’s bad habit in a group chat.
“My friend, I'm not gonna name any names, once told the group chat that she washes her bra once a year,” she candidly confessed.

Understandably, the fashion expert was curious about other women’s schedules and even asked her 11,000 Tiktok followers how regularly they wash their favourite bras.
“I'm now just curious like how often does everyone wash their bras, I'm now just curious like how often does everyone wash their bras,” she joked, in the now viral video.
Of course, the internet didn’t disappoint with the short clip sparking intense in the comments as fans gave their rather honest opinions.
In fact, there was a surprising variety of answers with some women revealing that they refused to wash their bras after a single wear.
“I wash after 1-2 wears and put mine in a delicates bag and wash it,” admitted one Tiktok fan, adding: “Never had a problem.”
Some prefer to wash their delicates after a few days, with them rotating their underwear a couple of times a week.
“Every 3 days,” joked another, to which Desyr responded: “Very precise, how do you keep track?”
Others had a more spontaneous approach to wash day, confessing that it often depended on when it landed in their laundry bin.
“Whenever it ends up in wash might be a week might be a month might be a year,” a third confessed, gaining over 674 likes.
At the other end of the spectrum, some women refused to rewear their bra without giving them a quick wash first.
“I change my bra every day. You change your underwear every day [and] a bra is underwear,” wrote a shocked viewer, adding: “Imagine the boob sweat.”
Whilst you’d think people would be impressed by this hygienic approach, some viewers questioned how well bras would last with such regular washing.
One even argued: “After one wear? How is it not knackered?!”
Though you should always check the manufacturer’s label, lingerie store Boux Avenue suggests that you should wash your bra every two to three wears.

This is because your underwear is excellent at trapping sweat, oils, dead skin cells and if left for too long, lingering bacteria can cause skin irritations.
