Hong Kong Observatory warns of heavy showers, with weather to improve later in the week

The Observatory said a broad trough of low pressure would bring showers and thunderstorms to the coast of southern China and the northern part of the South China Sea on Tuesday.

A few showers would linger over the coastal areas in the next couple of days, the forecaster added.

“With an anticyclone aloft strengthening gradually, the weather will improve and it will be very hot during the day over southeastern China in the latter part of this week to early next week,” it said.

The coming Sunday will see the mercury rise to as high as 34 degrees, while the minimum temperature is expected to sit at 29 degrees, according to the Observatory’s nine-day forecast.
