The Chase’s Anne Hegerty reveals she turned down huge reality TV show to do panto instead
ANNE Hegerty has revealed she turned down a huge reality TV show to take part in panto.
The Chase star, 65, is best known for her no-nonsense approach as 'The Governess' on the ITV show.
But fans could've seen the professional quiz master in a whole new light.
Anne has revealed she was approached to take part in this year's Dancing On Ice by execs.
However, after discovering it would clash with her pre-existing panto commitment, she said no.
Speaking to The Mirror, she explained: "I did have a try-out for Dancing on Ice because I would love to learn to ice skate.

“It was then discovered it was going to clash with panto, and the experience of being on a stage, working with an audience, getting to act and sing and be funny… I really valued that. I mean, I would just be one of those people who would be towed around behind a penguin and never actually let go. It would be quite sad.”
Anne is no stranger to reality TV, having taken part in I'm A Celebrity back in 2018.
She braved the Australian jungle before being booted out in seventh place.
Meanwhile, this year's Dancing On Ice lineup has already been revealed, which includes S-Club's Hannah Spearritt.
Soap actors Ricky Norwood and Claire Sweeney will also take to the ice along with radio presenter Adele Roberts.
Former Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb was forced to pull out of the competition after breaking his ankle.
The Sun recently revealed Stephen Mulhern has officially signed to present the new series, replacing axed Philip Schofield.
However, Holly Willoughby has yet to decide if she'll return to the programme after quitting This Morning following an alleged kidnap plot earlier this year.
