My hair growth tips might ruffle some feathers – you’re missing out on having strong strands without a key product
A HAIR influencer has shared her post-shower advice for hair growth and although they may be controversial, she says her viewers were missing out.
She recommended people go against the grain with their haircare, especially when it came to hair drying.
Hailey (@haileygrahamm) shared the tips with over 70,000 TikTok followers.
She felt that the steps in her routine were often overlooked and needed more visibility.
First, she urged viewers to use a Wet brush to prevent damage and split ends.
"They are designed to specifically be gentle on your wet hair which is most prone to breakage when it's wet," she said.
Hailey also felt that the benefits of a good detangler product couldn't be understated and were well worth the investment.
"You're going to see it's like butter to brush your hair instead of that struggle."
Next, despite traditional advice to avoid heat at all costs, Hailey revealed that for some, blow-drying was the better way to dry hair.
"If you are someone that gets out of the shower and it takes forever for your hair to fully dry, what would be the healthiest for it and make sure it doesn't break is actually blow-drying it," she said.
The influencer explained that the wet hair follicle stretches and over time, can lose elasticity.
"This is when your hair starts to become weak and brittle and have breakage," she explained.
Last but not least, Hailey felt that everyone could do with a bond-building treatment, even for those who believe they have healthy hair.
"If you do not have bond-building products in your routine, you are missing out on having the strongest hair ever," she said.
Your bonds in your hair break down over time just from daily things like showering, sleeping on a pillowcase, brushing, and then also things that we do to our hair purposely like hot tools, bleaching."
People agreed with her tips and felt that quality, even with hair tools, mattered.
"Not just blow drying, get a quality blow dryer. I did it and it made a huge difference going from Conair to BabyLiss," said one viewer.
Others thanked her for sharing her wealth of knowledge.
"Your recommendations and wisdom have helped my hair SO much! Thank you!" said a grateful fan.
