I’m a dermatologist & got an entire anti-aging skincare routine for $9 – don’t discount Dollar Tree, they have staples
A DERMATOLOGIST has revealed the best anti-aging products at Dollar Tree for a budget-friendly skincare routine.
She spent less than $10 on beauty items for her four-step regimen including creams, serum, and a mask.
Dr. Maren Locke (@thebudgetdermatologist) has garnered almost 19,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares affordable skincare advice.
“I just bought an entire anti-aging skincare routine from Dollar Tree for less than $10,” she said.
“Let’s do it together and see if it’s any good.”
She looked excited to try the products that she had just bought and held up each one before applying them to her skin.
“Step one, I got this gentle cleanser that is similar to Cetaphil,” she said.
“It’s hydrating and fragrance-free.
“It feels nice and clean.
“Step two, I got this anti-aging eye cream.”
She held up the box to show the packaging of the $1.25 eye cream, before patting it gently under her eyes.
“This has retinol, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and peptides,” she said.
“OK, the consistency is a little lightweight but it feels really soothing on the skin.
“Step three is this anti-aging serum.”
Dr. Maren put just one droplet of the serum onto her hand before spreading it on her face.
“This has peptides in it, which can build collagen in your skin without the irritation of retinoids,” she said.
“It feels nice on the skin.
“Step four is a vitamin C cream. It’s smaller than I expected.
“In addition to vitamin C, this has niacinamide and alpha hydroxy acid.
“I also picked up this retinol anti-aging mask and these awesome hydrogels for under the eyes and lips.
“I still had some money left with my $10 so I got a skincare staple, Dove sensitive skin bar.
“The moral of the story here is don’t count out the Dollar Tree.
“You can find some interesting products and skincare staple restocks.”
Dr. Maren shared a photo of the receipt as she revealed the entire skincare routine cost just $9.32.
She encouraged viewers to visit her YouTube channel to hear her full thoughts on each product.
Over 570 viewers liked the video and a few people in the comment section revealed they had already tried her Dollar Tree recommendations.
“The anti-aging serum is my favorite, I’ve been through seven bottles. Love it,” one person wrote.
“I started buying here for skincare instead of the expensive items,” another said.
