Arsenal transfer news LIVE: Timber returns to training, Gunners ‘among Premier League clubs eyeing Ramaj’, Osimhen boost

  • United backed to rival Arsenal for Ivan

Manchester United strike legend Andy Cole claims Arsenal and Chelsea target Ivan Toney "absolutely" fits the Red Devils' needs.

Cole also reckons the Brentford forward, 27, could help develop United's 21-year-old  Rasmus Hojlund.

The former Newcastle hero told The Winners Enclosure: “I like Ivan and if he came to Manchester United, would he do a job? Absolutely he would.

"Rasmus Hojlund is still a young man, so it’s all down to whether the club is prepared to bring in an older striker that can help him out at this stage.

"Manchester United’s signings of experienced forwards in recent times hasn’t exactly worked out.

“It all depends on what the transfer fee will be but for me personally, I believe Ivan would be a good signing for Manchester United if they make a move for him and he will definitely help Hojlund.”

  • Arteta ‘would join United’

Rio Ferdinand has insisted that Mikel Arteta would leave Arsenal should he be offered the Manchester United job.

He said on his FIVE YouTube channel: “Arteta would leave Arsenal to join Man United, 100 per cent.

“No one is saying it’s happening but if Man United in a wild dream said, ‘do you know what, Erik ten Hag, thank you’ or Erik ten Hag has been poached by Bayern Munich, and he goes there, and then Man United say top of the list is Arteta.

“Arteta is going in and saying to the lads, ‘listen guys, it’s been emotional but I’ve got to move, I’ve got to go’.”

  • On the Malen list for 'dream' Prem move

Dortmund frontman Donyell Malen explained his Premier League "beautiful dream".

The reported Manchester United and Liverpool target, 25, says leaving Arsenal Under-17s was right at the time - but it appears the Gunners would be his top choice for a top-flight return.

He told Voetbal Zone: “I think because I played in England as a youth and then it is a dream to play in the Premier League, then I think that is a beautiful dream

“I went to Arsenal so yes, them. I want Arsenal, my favourite club. Yes [about returning there]. I played there in my youth, I really wanted to break through there so yes.

“Every now and then in a football career there are points at which you just have to make a decision.

"Yes, I was training with the first team, and I was 17, 18 at the time and I did make steps in the optics, but I thought yes, I have to just play professional football.

“I also saw my teammates playing professional football while I was still playing youth football and I just knew (leaving) was the right thing to do.”

  • Toney 'absolutely' fits United style

Manchester United strike legend Andy Cole claims Arsenal and Chelsea target Ivan Toney "absolutely" fits the Red Devils' needs.

Cole also reckons the Brentford forward, 27, could help develop United's 21-year-old  Rasmus Hojlund.

  • Toney backed to join Gunners over Spurs

Ivan Toney has been tipped to choose Arsenal over Tottenham.

Chelsea have also been linked with the one-cap England striker, who Brentford reportedly rate at upwards of £70million.

But ex-England frontman Michael Owen believes the Gunners would be the most attractive proposition.

The former Liverpool and Manchester United star told  Premier League Productions: “It’s an expensive risk because he isn’t going to be cheap.

“But to put someone, let’s say Arsenal, who everybody is saying needs a centre-forward, to have him at the club and not to start him. What’s he going to cost? £60, 70 or 80 million?

“He’s a starter really. He is going to have to start. Paying that money, you have to start him.

"I like him, don’t get me wrong. He can obviously score goals.

"He is very different. Not many would like to mark him. He has got a lot of different attributes.

"He’s not a target man that a lot of people would describe him as. He can bring people into play. He has a lot more to his game than just winning flick-ons.”

  • Utd target Malen eyes Gunners' return

Manchester United and Liverpool have been linked with Donyell Malen - but the Borussia Dortmund striker dreams of rejoining Arsenal.

The 28-cap Dutchman, 25, was with Ajax and then the Gunners as a kid before joining PSV in 2018.

He moved on to Dortmund three years later but it's claimed the Bundesliga giants Dortmund could be willing to sell him in the summer to raise much-needed funds.

So far this term Malen has bagged 12 goals and three assists in 30 games.

  • Gunners took huge hit on Nic

Nicolas Pepe's nightmare four years at Arsenal could have cost the Gunners more than £100million in all.

The Telegraph say the Ivorian's £72m fee plus huge wages make the 28-year-old a more expensive flop than many might realise.

The former Lille star finally left permanently for Trabzonspor in September 2023, having earlier had a loan spell back in France with Nice.

The Turkish club said at the time of Nicolas Pepe's arrival from Arsenal last summer that 'we wanted him and he wanted us'[/caption]

Pepe played 112 games for the Gunners, notching 27 goals and 21 assists.

Boss Mikel Arteta said at the time of his Emirates exit: "It is not a decision that I take alone."

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard posed with girlfriend Helene Spilling as they cuddled a puppy in photos shared on social media.

In June, they then shared a number of pictures together including them sunbathing and in the Emirates tunnel.

However, Odegaard has shared very few snaps of the couple together since then.

But Helene did post a series of images on Tuesday as they cosied up with a cute puppy.

One showed the pair holding the dog as they gave it some attention, with Odegaard and Helene also seen posing alone with the puppy.

The Norwegian midfielder was also snapped sitting on a bike in a park.

Spilling, 27, is two years older than Odegaard and a dancer who won "Skal vi Danse" in 2021 - Norway's version of Strictly Come Dancing.

  • 'Mudryk distraught when Arsenal move collapsed'

Mykhailo Mudryk was "devastated"when Arsenal failed to sign him ahead of Chelsea, reports tonight claim.

The Blues nipped in at the eleventh hour for the £88million Shakhtar Donetsk winger on a huge eight-and-a-half-year contract.

Now The Athletic say the Ukrainian had been desperate to join the Gunners.

Instead, the 23-year-old has struggled in his 13 months at Stamford Bridge.

Mudryk has failed to start a Prem game in 2024.

And overall he has amassed just four goals in 43 games for Chelsea - typifying the plight of many of the Blues' big buys

Arsenal have been tipped by some to come back in for Mudryk in the summer - with a loan deal rated the likeliest outcome.

  • Red Devils & Gunners tipped to pursue Kayode

Fearless Fiorentina centre-back Michael Kayode has staggering stats to show why Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly shown interest.

And despite suggestions that the 19-year-old is happy to stay with his Serie A club, Prem transfer talk over the Italian has persisted.

    Credit: Rex

CalcioMercato say Arsenal's transfer guru Edu has "repeatedly" sent scouts to watch the Under-21 international, who has been rated at around £12million.

And WhoScored have revealed some figures that are sure to impress Gunners' fans.

In particular, Kayode has attempted more tackles (48) than Arsenal's main central defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes (both 44) this season.

However, he is under contract until 2028 with. Fiorentina having the option to add another 12 months.

  • Rio's shock claim over Arteta and Red Devils

Rio Ferdinand claims Mikel Arteta would swap his Arsenal boss job for Manchester United - if he ever gets the offer.

Ex-United and England defender Ferdy told his FIVE YouTube channel: “Arteta would leave Arsenal to join Man United, 100 per cent.

United's Andre Onana has failed to fully justify his summer arrival.

The Gunners could lose Aaron Ramsdale after David Raya seemingly cemented his status as boss Mikel Arteta's first-choice stopper.

And it's claimed Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is still uncertain over whether Robert Sanchez or Djordje Petrovic should be his regular pick between the posts.

Sport Bild's Christian Falk suggests 22-year-old Ramaj, who has yet to win a senior cap for Germany, is much admired by the three English clubs.

  • Partey to get 'final chance to earn new deal'

Injured midfielder Thomas Partey can still earn a new Arsenal deal if he returns to prove himself this season.

That's the claim from FootballTransfers as the Ghana anchorman, 30, closes on a comeback after four months out.

Retaining a fully-fit Partey rather than buying a replacement would certainly help the Gunners meet Financial Fair Play (FFP) requirements.

But boss Mikel Arteta would need to be convinced the ex-Atletico Madrid ace can consistently reproduce his best form.

Partey has sat out 26 club games this term due to hamstring and groin problems.

  • Kai urged to do more off the ball

Tim Sherwood believes Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz offers “nothing out of possession”

Former Spurs player and manager Sherwood said: “I agree that he is a luxury.

“He gives you nothing out of possession. He’s a good size, he doesn’t play like he’s good in the air.

“Wonderful touch, good vision, he’s a big game player, he scored in a Champions League final for Chelsea.

“He’s anonymous in the game but he pops up with big goals, and I think Mikel (Arteta) is hoping he pops up with big goals in the business end of the season for him.”

  • Ramsey could yet feature in Euros for Wales

Former Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has not given up hope on his Euros dream.

The Cardiff star had been ruled out for four to six weeks with a calf injury.

But his recovery is going better than expected, and he is desperate to play in Wales' play off against Finland on March 21.

It's likely that he could even play without having played a match for Cardiff City in the Championship first.

  • Arsenal to axe star over injuries

Arsenal are growing impatient with Gabriel Jesus' persistent injury problems.

The Gunners have already drawn up a list of replacements for the summer.

Jesus has been out since January due to a knee issue, though he was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Newcastle.

Ivan ToneyVictor Osimhen, Joshua Zirkzee and Viktor Gyokeres are all names being looked at as replacements for the Brazilian in the summer.

  • Players on a family break

Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard have gone on a short couples holiday with their partners.

The players have uploaded pictures to their Instagram from a coutryside Instagram.

Arteta has given the players a few days off with Arsenal not playing again until Monday.

The hands-off approach of encouraging bonding time together worked wonders after the club's warm weather trip to Dubai.

Arsenal have won every game in the league since.

  • Arsenal and Mudryk were meant to be

It's understood that Mykhailo Mudryk still has admirers at Arsenal who eblieve he could still unlock his talent.

The Athletic report that Arsenal were willing to smash their then transfer record in January 2023 to sign Mudryk before they were gazumped by Chelsea.

The player was understood to be privately devastated at not joining Arsenal but felt Chelsea's offere being too good to turn down.

Ruben Neves has admitted he could have joined Arsenal last summer.

He instead became one of many players that has swapped top European leagues for the Saudi League over the past 18 months.

Neves said: “I was close to [joining] three clubs & it ended up not happening, which saddened me. Barcelona was one, it was close to happening, just like with Arsenal.

"Then, with this golden opportunity [to join Al Hilal], I had no doubts about accepting it. I was tired of transfers that didn’t happen.”

  • Get well soon Kristoffer Olsson

Well wishes have poured in for former Arsenal star Kristoffer Olsson.

The Swede was at Arsenal from 2011 to 2014 and made one senior appearance for the club in the League Cup.

He came on as a substitute against West Brom and scored a spot-kick as the Gunners won on penalties.

The 28-year-old midfielder has been capped 47 times by Sweden and is currently at Danish side Midtjylland.

He is currently being treated at Aarhus University Hospital on a ventilator after losing consciousness in his home.

The hospital said in a statement: "Kristoffer Olsson is affected by an apparently acute disease related to the brain, which is not due to self-harm of any kind, nor is the cause due to external factors.

  • Campbell's house for sale

Sol Campbell has had to slash £10million off the asking price of his home as he struggles to sell the property.

The ex-Arsenal and England star, 49, placed the Grade II-listed townhouse in Chelsea, West London, on the market for £25m in 2021.

He first reduced the price of the six-storey house in September 2022 after reportedly being cheated out of £1.5m in rent.

Sol was forced to go to court to obtain an eviction notice after a tenant failed to pay rent.

He is thought to have owned the property since 2004, with then interior designer wife Fiona Barrett later extensively redesigning the home.

But with the mansion still up for sale three years after it was place on the market, Sol has now reduced the asking price to £15m.
