Warwick Castle in Warwickshire promises an "unforgettable experience" as history is brought to life when its 60-bedroom hotel opens later this year.

The hotel's exterior is set to resemble a medieval long hall with timber cladding and shingle roof tiles.

According to a press release from Warwick Castle, each room has been inspired by the Wars of the Roses, with rose motifs, chambers draped in rich colours and wooden beams and shields.

A CGI image shows what guests are likely to expect inside the medieval-themed bedrooms, with jewel-toned decor, wall tapestries and wooden floors.

In the hotel's lobby, guests will be greeted by an animatronic horse and knight.

Families will also come face-to-face with talking historic portraits, giving visitors an insight into the castle's history.

During the day, overnight visitors will be able to explore the castle grounds, including jousting tournaments and The Falconer's Quest - a family-favourite falconry show.

Guests will also be able to venture through a treetop walkway to the Knight's Village, where they'll be entertained in a medieval banquet hall.

Other activities at Warwick Castle include Zog Playland - a play area uniquely designed for fans of the beloved children's character - and the Horrible Histories Maze.

Warwick Castle has invested £16.4million into the hotel development, with an additional 1,000 trees set to be planted in the castle grounds.

The hotel joins the existing accommodation at Warwick Castle, including Caesar’s Tower Suites, the Knight’s Village Woodland Lodges, and the Knight’s Village Medieval Glamping.

The Warwick Castle Hotel will open to guests on July 22, 2024.

Overnight stays start from £159 per night for a family of four, with prices rising to £199 per night when a one-day ticket to the castle is included in the cost of a stay.

Warwick Castle is open from 10am until 4pm every day.

While pre-booking is advised, on the day walk-ins are an option for overnight guests.

Tickets into the castle start from £25 and guests can save 35 per cent off the gate price by booking in advance online.

The castle has been praised by visitors online, with a 4/5 star rating from more than 16,600 reviews on TripAdvisor.
