‘Your child is going to be very disrespectful’ people warn mum as ‘monster’, six, with a manicure moans about her coffee

A MUM has found herself brutally slammed after letting her six-year-old kid, dubbed ''monster'', have a coffee drink, as well as a manicure.

We've become a coffee-crazed culture, with Brits alone consuming nearly 18,000 LITRES of coffee over their lifetime - and someone to know a little about this is mum Haleigh Booth whose six-year-old daughter already allegedly enjoys the beverage.

Thousands of people raced to comments, where they slammed her parenting and letting the six-year-old have both a manicure, as well as a drink from Starbucks

In fact, her kid, named Harper, knows her coffee drinks so well, she's even grown to have a favourite brand - Starbucks, where she'll opt for a Caramel Macchiato.

The sweet drink, according to the popular high street chain, calls for two shots of espresso - meaning it has anywhere between 60 and 100mg of caffeine.

Although Haleigh, believed to be from the USA, hasn't specified whether the bevvy is decaf or regular, one such recent clip of the kid enjoying her iced drink has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

In the video, little Harper could be seen moaning about the coffee from the rival brand Dunkin' Donuts, as Starbucks was ''better'' in her opinion.

Tapping on her plastic cup with a fresh manicure, the blue-eyed girl went on to explain why she preferred the huge chain.

''Well, I asked them to put whipped cream in this too.

''I said 'A caramel macchiato, two pumps of white chocolate with whipped cream'.

''But they did not put the whipped cream - and the whipped cream is the best part.

''But whatever, okay,'' the young girl, who also enjoys all things beauty and make-up, said before storming off.

''Their drinks are way better, like 100%, really,'' Harper hit back at her mum, who'd pointed out she'd never even tried Dunkin' Donuts' coffee before.

Omg, I thought those were carrots.. but Cheetos

All pleased with her sweet drink, as well as the two doughnuts she ws about to tuck into, the six-year-old gave a little dance.

But although Haleigh may have found the clip amusing and even wondered if her followers were ''team @Dunkin or team @Starbucks'', the video received a huge amount of backlash.

It appears that thousands of people had an issue with the young girl's attitude, with one warning the mum saying: ''Your child is going to be very disrespectful when she’s older.''

Someone else agreed, wondering: ''Why the f**k are you treating this little girl like an adult?

''This is horrific. W** is wrong with you?''

Another chimed in: ''She needs to stop with the nail tapping, you’ve created a monster!''

A fourth wrote: ''What's with the nails?

''She is too young for coffee and nails - you are letting her do too grown up things, she needs to be a child not act like a young adult.

''This isn't funny at all.''

Unfortunately, this is not the first time mum Haleigh has faced criticism for her parenting - earlier this year, she was slammed for letting her six-year-old use viral ''adult'' skincare.

Several people warned Haleigh that using an ''exfoliating'' toner will ''damage her skin'' and even lead to acne ''at the age of ten''.

Meanwhile, in a different video, Harper could be seen sharing how she does her make-up using a bronzer, a blusher and even foundation.

At what age is it okay to start drinking coffee?

Parents.com reported that in smaller amounts, coffee is not necessarily bad for kids - however, there are things to consider before allowing them to consume any amount of caffeinated drinks.

Although a study found that a whopping 73 per cent of children and adolescents drink some form of caffeinated beverages on a daily basis, such as tea and energy drinks, The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommended that kids under the age of 12 consume no caffeine at all.

Meanwhile, those between the ages 12 and 18 should drink no more than 100 mg of caffeine per day, The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry advised.

It's also worth remembering that most of the beverages kids will opt for also contained a large amount of sugar, cream, as well as added sweets, such as chocolate chips and caramel.

This, in turn, increases the levels of fat and sugar the kids are ingesting.

Side Effects of Coffee for Kids

Since their bodies are generally smaller, the caffeine content can affect kids differently than adults.

Chatting to Parents.com, Steve Theunissen, a registered dietitian nutritionist and ISSA /IFPA certified personal trainer, listed some of the side effects to be wary of.

  • Frequent urination and risk of dehydration.
  • Altered mental state. One study shows that caffeine intake in kids is associated with increased feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression.
  • Poor sleep patterns. Caffeine can alter kids' sleep cycles, which can, in turn, interrupt and have a negative impact on growth in the brain and body.
  • Jitters and nervousness
  • Dependency on caffeine. Regularly drinking coffee as a child can become a habit, and children can suffer from withdrawal effects just like adults do. These can lead to include tiredness, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, and headaches.
  • Upset stomach or nausea
