Three huge ITV Coronation Street theories: prison ahead for one resident, shock secrets and surprise comeback

CASSIE Plummer has made it clear she aims to take everything away from Abi Webster, particularly her husband Kevin.

Meanwhile, one Coronation Street couple could be in danger and viewers are hoping for the return of another familiar face.

1. Legal trouble for Cassie

Evelyn Plummer (portrayed by Maureen Lipman) has been determined to bring Terry down in recent scenes of the ITV soap - and her plan may bring results.

But with her wayward daughter Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) in the cobbles, it all takes devastating proportions which could eventually backfire on her.

It all begins when Evelyn scours the internet for evidence of Terry running a puppy farm.

In the precinct, Evelyn spots Terry exiting the pound shop with a tray of puppy food and decides to follow him.

Unfortunately, he catches Evelyn tailing him and threatens her with violence.

Later on, Evelyn gets help from her daughter Cassie and pal Roy Cropper (David Neilson), showing them a puppy for sale online.

She then reckons Terry is the unseen person holding it in the photo.

Roy calls to make an inquiry and gets through to a woman called Joan who gives Roy her address in the precinct.

In other scenes, Cassie calls on pretending she has bought a large delivery of dog food and Joan sends her away after she divulged Terry’s address.

Deciding to pay Terry a visit, Cassie climbs in through the downstairs window of a house into a room full of crates of puppies and a bag of cash nearby.

As Terry enters with a baseball bat, he’s distracted by a noise outside.

Cassie stuffs the cash into her pockets and is gathering up the puppies to make her escape when Terry enters the room and surveys the open cages.

Terry's fate is revealed in later scenes as Evelyn gets another nasty surprise when Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) calls at the café.

The copper brings news that Terry has been seriously assaulted... and Evelyn is his first suspect.

Evelyn finds out that she was seen arguing with Terry outside his house - but will she really take the fall for the thug's assault?

A guilty Cassie watches as Evelyn is getting into Craig’s police car.

Cassie and Evelyn have had a strained relationship in the past as the beloved character lost faith in her daughter who had continuously fallen off the wagon over the years.

However, in more recent months, Cassie has been trying to clean up her act, despite going against Abi Webster (Sally Carman) in the hopes of stealing her life and her husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell).

She has also had the chance to reconnect with her long-lost son Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and get to know his own daughters.

Could reconnecting with her family be enough for Cassie to want to do the right thing?

2. Relationship takes sinister turn

Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) recently discovered that her boyfriend Joel Deering (Callum Lill) was helping her father Ed keep his gambling addiction a secret.

In more recent scenes of the Manchester-based program, Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) was able to get a job by working for Damon Hay, who came back to the cobbles to wreak more havoc with his brother Harvey.

This week, however, Dee-Dee informs Damon that her dad’s a gambling addict and cannot be subjected to any undue stress while working for him, sending the criminal into a panic.

But while the attention may be steered away from Joel, many soap watchers are speculating he may be keeping yet another, more sinister secret from his other half.

"Does anyone else think Joel has an ulterior motive? I just don’t trust him. I feel like he’s with Dee Dee for some other reason, I feel like he’s got history with the Bailey family and a grudge but I don’t know what exactly", one viewer commented on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another agreed that Dee-Dee's "boyfriend is definitely dodgy" and multiple other soap fans jumped in.

One of them had an interesting theory to share and speculated that Damon and Joel may be more linked than ever suspected before.

"With this whole Ed/Ronnie thing I reckon Joel (DeeDee’s fella) is gonna be related to Damon or even Geoff or someone and they get out of debt in a dodgy deal."

Could they be on to something?

3. Shock return

Speaking of Damon, the thug portrayed by Ciarán Griffiths is up to no good once again with his brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

Last week, Harvey demanded that his brother take part in a robbery he had planned himself from behind bars, issuing threats to convince him to help out.

But while the new plot began to unravel, after Damon tried to get rid of his rival Adam Barlow, fans have grown increasingly convinced that Corrie bosses may be planning a surprise return for another character - Damon's son, Jacob Hay.

Portrayed by Jack James Ryan, Jacob refused to get into a life of crime but going against family tradition earned him a tense confrontation with his father Damon.

When he was caught up in the handling of drugs, which his father asked from him, Jacob was forced to flee Weatherfield for good, leaving his then-girlfriend Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) behind in early 2023.

Amy is growing closer than ever to her pal Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) and Jacob's return would be the drama viewers need on their screens.

Many of them took to X to share their thoughts about the possibility of Jacob coming back to the cobbles.

"Bring Jacob back I say. He ended up being one of my favourites before he unexpectedly left", one of them commented.

Another added: "Jacob with a couple of mentions this week. Hope he comes back at some point."

"Jacob mention. Can they bring him back please", a third watcher concluded.
