Champions League LIVE SCORES: Arsenal take on Shakhtar, Real Madrid vs Dortmund, Aston Villa in action – latest updates

  • Early Arsenal team news

Reports suggest both Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber will not be ready in time for tonight's game.

We already know Martin Odegaard, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney miss out due to long-term issues.

But Mikel Arteta isn't keen to rush Saka back after he picked up a knock on international duty with England.

Arteta said after Saturday's loss to Bournemouth: "We tried the last few days but he didn't have the right feeling.

"There was no point pushing him and we have very good options as well."

  • Run of the Mil

As is now the norm, we've two games kicking off shortly at 5.45pm - and all eyes are on the San Siro.

AC Milan are not enjoying life at the moment having won just 4 of their last 10 games in all competitions.

Belgian side Club Brugge could be sniffing a giant-killing - especially after seeing off Sturm Graz on the road last time out.

Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Alvaro Morata all start for Chelsea B. Sorry, Milan.

  • Under the lights

Settle in and cue the music - the Champions League is back.

This madcap new format has thrown up goals galore in the early weeks of the season.

Nobody appears quite sure what is going on and why, but it's all good fun as we head into Gameweek 3.

There are 9 games on the slate tonight, including two early kick-offs from Italy and France.

AC Milan welcome Club Brugge, looking to get their first point of the tournament, while Red Star Belgrade visit a Monaco team unbeaten since early August.

Arsenal and Aston Villa both continue their own European adventures later on, with home ties under the lights.

The Gunners face Shakhtar at the Emirates for the first time since 2010, when they put 5 past the Ukrainians.

While Villa hope to continue their fairytale return to the biggest stage, hosting Bologna and targeting a third-straight win.

Let's get this show on the road.
