Inside the showbiz life of Ryan Thomas’ daughter Scarlett – from Love Island uncle & TOWIE step-mum to soap star success
RYAN Thomas recently topped the leader-board with his first performance on Dancing on Ice, but he's not the only family member to keep a close eye on...
She may just be 15-years-old, but the former Coronation Street actor's firstborn daughter Scarlett, who he shares with his ex and Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien, is busy paving her very own successful career.
She made her acting debut in Waterloo Road just last year and has another hidden talent - an incredible singing voice.
And it turns out the rising star already has a very showbiz lifestyle - including a TOWIE step-mum and even an uncle who came third on reality show, Love Island...
FOLLOWING IN HER PARENTS' FOOTSTEPS
With her mum Tina best known for playing Sarah Platt in Corrie and her dad finding fame as Jason Grimshaw on the cobbles between 2000 and 2016 - it's little surprise Scarlett has acting in her blood.
At the tender age of 14, the budding actress was quickly snapped up for her first major role on screen, winning the part of Izzie Charles in BBC's school-based drama Waterloo Road.

In the rebooted series, she stars alongside her real-life uncle, former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas, who plays her onscreen dad Donte, while his son Teddy, 9, who he shares with wife Caroline Thomas, plays as his on screen son.
Appearing on an episode of Monday's Morning Live, co-host Kym Marsh asked Adam if he had given his niece any tips and he replied: "To be fair she doesn't need it."
And it seems he was right - because it wasn't long before she was nominated for her first acting award.
In a post shared to Instagram, mum Tina shared her pride over her daughter's acting and gushed: "So proud of Scarlett, she’s worked so hard on Waterloo road and I’ve absolutely loved watching her portrayal of Izzy.
"Wonderful to see her talent recognised by @tvtimesmagazine as she’s been nominated for an award #proudmum."
Meanwhile, 39-year-old Ryan, who is currently participating on Dancing on Ice with skating partner Amani Fancy, also took to Instagram to share his excitement as his teen daughter followed in his footsteps.
"What a time to be alive", he said in a video.
"Tonight, BBC One, 8pm, Waterloo Road, my little brother Adam, my little nephew Teddy and eldest daughter Scarlett take over the TV screen together as a family."
"Talk about a proud moment for the Thomases! Wow. I can't wait for you guys to see it. We watched it together as a family."
However, it's not the first time Scarlett has graced the small screen, as last year she filmed a First Dates-inspired advert for Asda alongside her cousin Teddy.
The pair's performance was praised online, with one social media user enthusing: "It runs in the family! These kids are soooooo talented!"
Another commented: "This is amazing they both have talent keep an eye out for these two in the future."
And a further added: "What little superstars."
LOVE ISLAND LINK
Strictly Come Dancing contestant Adam Thomas, who got knocked out in the seventh round of the most recent series, isn't Scarlett's only famous uncle.
His twin brother Scott, who placed third on the second series of Love Island in 2016 after finding love with Kady McDermott, is also proud uncle to the rising star.
But despite seeming loved-up, the couple's romance didn't last the distance and they split 18 months later.
The 35-year-old's life has changed drastically since leaving the villa after he ditched partying, alcohol and big brand deals in favour of focusing on his mental health.
In the podcast Boots presents Taboo Talk, Scott spoke to host Vogue Williams and her husband Spencer Matthews about the reason he quit alcohol.
Discussing the moment he realised he had to give up drinking, the former reality star, who is also the co-founder of successful PR agency Social Pr, said: "The big moment for me was when I got escorted out of a work event.
"I'd been out the night before to take the wind out of my sails and wasn't all pent up. It was all calculated.
"But I woke up late and was pretty much half-cooked when I turned up to this Chairman's Luncheon. I ended up getting escorted out just for being so drunk.
"I had one of the directors in a headlock, saying 'come here you'.
"I woke up the next day and my team knew all about it, my business partner wouldn't speak to me, I nearly lost my biggest client and I just knew this couldn't go on anymore."
"I was a nightmare when I drunk. I became a different person. I was unfiltered and could become quite nasty. Not aggressive, but full on. I would tell you exactly what I thought in that moment and could upset people."
TOWIE STAR STEP-MUM
Following her parents' split in 2009, Scarlett's dad Ryan went on to find love with former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh.
The pair, who have recently moved to Manchester, met when they appeared on survival reality show Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls in early 2017.
Since then, Ryan popped the question on a romantic Italian getaway after two years of dating, and they've since gone on to welcome two children together - Lilah, 14 months, and son Roman, three.
Back in 2018, Ryan shared a glimpse into Lucy's relationship with Scarlett and revealed he left it four months before introducing the pair.
Speaking of the moment they met, Lucy told OK! magazine: "We FaceTimed beforehand so I wasn’t a complete stranger.
"I first met her when she was modelling for Bohoo.com and, as soon as I turned up, she started twirling around and flicking her hair more. She’s amazing and so confident. She was easy from day one."
The reality star also told how being a stepmother was "fun," adding: "As soon as a child is involved you’re selfless - you do what they want to do and I love it.
"We go to the cinema, we have sleepovers, waffles and water fights, it takes me back to my youth watching Disney films - I love it.
"I took one for the team when I spent eight hours doing maths homework with her on the way back home from Dubai while Ryan slept. I got a B in maths but the long division was hard!"
SINGING SUPERSTAR
She may have made her acting debut in Waterloo Road last year, but Scarlett's talents don't stop there.
Doting dad Ryan has shared his daughter's stunning singing voice on several occasions - and there's no denying there's some serious talent in her genes.
Most recently, he took to Instagram on New Year's Day and posted a clip as she sang surrounded by loved ones.
In the video, she can be seen casually sitting on the window sill as she and dad Ryan both sing 'Part Of Your World' by Jodi Benson together.
Ryan's good friend and former Made in Chelsea reality star Ashley James posted a snippet of the goosebump moment, showing him beaming from ear-to-ear as his daughter hit all the right notes.
"That's the face of a proud dad right there," she wrote.
The proud father previously shared another video of Scarlett belting out a spine-tingling rendition of Never Love Again from the hit film A Star Is Born, starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
Ryan's social media followers and celeb friends alike were so impressed with Scarlett's vocal talent, they rushed to the comments section.
TOWIE's Lydia Bright penned: "No I’m crying - she is so perfect, beautiful in every way."
