CHOC fans are rushing to snap up Easter chocolate still scanning at super-low prices, including a discontinued Cadbury treat, weeks after the big day.

The bargain bonanza was spotted at Sainsbury’s in Hereford, where treats including the discontinued Cadbury Daim Mini Eggs were scanning for as little as 18p.

The Easter treat has returned after the Christmas version, Dairy Milk Robins was discontinued, leaving shoppers at the time gutted.

Other treats included the Kinder Mini Eggs which were available for 15p, as well as 5 pack of Creme Eggs selling for 40p.

One eagle-eyed shopper took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group to share the haul.

They posted: “In my local Sainsbury’s – Creme Eggs 5 pack, 40p. Kinder Mini Eggs, 15p. Daim Mini Eggs, 18p. (Hertford). Still lots left.”

The post sent social media into meltdown, with choc lovers tagging mates and planning their next supermarket dash.

One replied: “Omg 40p creme eggs xxxxx.”

Another said: “Get to Sainsbury’s lol.”

A third added: “Loads of eggs in my nearest one.”

And someone else tagged their siblings and wrote: “Dad needs creme eggs.”

Sainsbury’s hasn’t confirmed how long the cut-price chocs will stay on shelves – so it’s best to be quick if you want to bag a bargain.

In other chocolate news, last week, Toblerone confirmed it has axed an iconic chocolate bar leaving shoppers devastated.

Exciting new chocolates that have been spotted on shop shelves

Sweet giant Mondelez exclusively told The Sun, shoppers will no longer be able to get their hands on the dark chocolate version of the bar.

Recently, shoppers were seen flocking to Morrisons to get their hands on a whopping 360g Toblerone bar.

The sweet treat was being snapped up for just £3 using Morrisons More card.

The bars previously hit shelves for £6.26, meaning shoppers are making a saving of over 50%.

Elsewhere, shoppers have been racing to B&M after spotting Cadbury’s Daim Eggs back on shelves for just £1.50.

The Easter treat made its return after the Christmas version, Dairy Milk Robins, was discontinued, leaving shoppers gutted.

Whilst, Morrisons slashed the price of a number of its big packs of Cadbury chocolates to just 87p.

The chocolates include Bitsa Wispa, Crunchie Rocks, Oreo Bites, and Cadbury Animals, all going for a fraction of their usual price.

The 110g bags of sweet treats usually range anywhere between £1.75 to £2 at the major supermarkets.

How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs...

Go own brand - if you're not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for the supermarket's own brand bars.

Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
