Europe’s biggest pub fits 3,750 drinkers and has 20 huge bars – and Brits can get there without flying
THE biggest pub in Europe is found in a city break destination that can be reached from the UK by train.
The Netherlands has a well known drinking culture, with beers like Heineken, Amstel and Grolsch all coming from the European country.
So it's perhaps no surprise that the continent's largest pub is also found there, in the city of Groningen.
De Drie Gezusters, or The Three Sisters is found in the Grote Markt, the main square, right next to the city hall.
It is made up of four connecting buildings, with 20 bars spread out throughout, each with something different on offer for its customers.
It's a place where "the best Dutch beers are poured" and home to "several dance floors, each one with its own type of music, which range from folk to techno, from pop music to Latin American" according to Travel Thru History.

The total capacity of the pub is 3,750 people, across all of its various bars and different areas, with plenty of spaces to find something else to enjoy.
Along with its evening drinks, it also hosts plenty of special events, including live concerts, karaoke nights and a huge pub quiz.
What's more, it has a giant screen, along with a number of other televisions throughout, that broadcasts major sports events, making it a great place to take in World Cup matches or other big games.
Its dancefloors, karaoke evenings and big scale events may make it sound like a rowdy place, but during the daytime and early evening, there's a much more relaxed feel to the bar.
It has quiet study areas, places to enjoy an afternoon tea, as well as an extensive coffee and lunch menu.
Travel Thru History continued: "By the way, De Drie Gezusters is not only a pub.
"During the morning and the afternoon it’s a restaurant and a fine place to drink a coffee while listening to music."
That claim was backed up by Live The World, who labelled it a place that "has it all".
They added: "De Drie Gezusters is a versatile venue that caters to all tastes and preferences.
