Hong Kong logs hottest March day on record as temperatures hit 30.3 degrees Celsius
Hong Kong logged its hottest day in March on record as temperatures reached 30.3 degrees Celsius (86.5 Fahrenheit) shortly after midday on Sunday.
The Observatory logged the figure, the highest in the month since records began in 1884, at its headquarters in Tsim Sha Tsui, while many stations across the city also registered temperatures exceeding 30 degrees.
The mercury in Yuen Long hit 30.7 degrees, reaching 30.5 degrees in Happy Valley and 31.1 degrees in Ta Kwu Ling as of 12.30pm.
The weather forecaster said conditions would be hot during the day, as well as foggy in the morning and at night in the next couple of days. Temperatures will drop slightly on Wednesday, with a southerly airstream being replaced by a weak northeast monsoon in the middle of the week.
