‘Are you out of your mind?’ woman sparks outrage with Mother’s Day gift idea for ‘miserable’ mum, it’s awful for her dad

A WOMAN has sparked outrage over her "evil" Mother's Day gift idea for her "miserable" mum.

Most people will have picked out chocolate or flowers to treat the maternal figure in their life this Sunday, or may be spoiling her to a meal out or a home cooked lunch.

However, one woman has got a completely different idea.

Taking to Reddit, the woman revealed that her mum is miserable in her marriage to her dad.

She said: "They barely speak to each other, he always sits in front of the TV and never lets her watch what she wants to.

"She goes to the effort of cooking him dinner and he barely even eats it, doesn’t thank her.

"They’ve lost all affection, she told me he doesn’t even give her a kiss before bed.

"I can’t remember the last time they went out for dinner or on a date or something."

The woman said that her mum is a very fun and sociable person, but added that her dad is a "drain" on her.

She said that her mother has toyed with the idea of meeting a new man in the past, but will ultimately never leave her dad.

The woman's suggestion to fix her parents' marriage, is to set her up with an affair.

She said: "With Mother’s Day coming up, I wanted to treat my mum to something unusual that could also get her marriage back on track.

"So I was thinking about getting her a membership to one of them dating websites you go to for an affair.

I was convinced my husband was having an affair but it was my 5-year-old's detective skills that really ratted him out

"I read that it can actually help a marriage".

The post was flooded with responses from social media users, with many people in shock at the unconventional suggestion.

One person said: "Affairs don’t help marriages. They destroy them.

"They end an already dead marriage and destroy people. If your mum wanted an affair she would of had one by now.

"If you really want to help your mother, get her therapy sessions so she can figure out why she is accepting less for herself what she can do to find the confidence to get what she wants out of life."

Another person said: "Are you out of you mind? I mean you really need help if you are seriously asking this question.
