I transformed my bland motor with three mods… eBay buy took seconds to add on & made it look £1,000s more expensive

A MOTORHEAD has transformed his car by copping three cheap mods after becoming "tired" of how it looked.

The TikToker showed the cheap makeover to his followers - with one saying that the whip now looks "fire".

Posted on his social media, Treyvon Murriel listed three things he bought from eBay, and some of them cost less than £80 ($100).

Taking his followers on a tour of his newly-modded Volkswagen Golf, he said: "Alright so you just got your MK7 GTi, and you're ready to go-ahead and start modding the exterior.

"Here are my favourite three mods to do."

The video cuts to the rear of his motor - where he explains the first addition to his racer-style motor that he said he was "tired" of the way it looked.

He said: "First thing I did was I went ahead and bought an eBay spoiler - it cost me £80 ($100), maybe even £63 ($80).

"It's a cheap mod that makes your car look better from the back then go ahead and get a rear wing."

CAR MODS: Can they get you into trouble?

Car modifications can be tempting for petrolheads who want their car to stand out from the crowd, but according to a leading motor firm, some can end up costing hundreds of pounds in fines.

Recently, Peter Waddell, CEO of leading automotive company BigWantsYourCar.com, dished out the helpful tips to motorists.

He told drivers that while modifications look cool, some lesser-known changes could see your car insurance jump in cost.

He explained that no matter how minor the modifications are, it is essential that drivers inform their insurer if they don’t wish to invalidate their car insurance.

Peter says that even basic changes - like alloy wheels - could see your insurance premiums rise.

The motors expert says this can happen if the new wheels "significantly raise the vehicle's value" or if there's a "high theft rate" for such items in your area.

Peter also noted how exhaust modifications can lead to higher insurance costs and even legal issues.

He said: "Making your car's exhaust louder can lead to higher insurance costs and legal issues with noise pollution.

"Many such modifications are illegal, especially if they involve removing silencers, which can lead to fines and make your vehicle non-compliant with road laws."

Kneeling down towards the bottom of the car, he explained his second mod.

He continued: "It was a combination of two, I got them both together. I wet ahead and got a Maxton rear diffuser along with a muffler delete with four-inch tips."

His third tip included upgrading his wheels and suspension - which he warned can sometimes seem expensive, and potentially put people off completing an upgrade.

He went on to say that he did it for far cheaper than what he claims people think it would cost.

He said: "What if I told you I did this for around £395 ($500)?

"I got H and R lowering springs for £197 ($250), and paid £237 ($300) for the wheels, so it's definitely doable."

Commenters were quick to comment on the mods, and most were astounded at how the car looked given that he paid less than £800.

And while other commenters took inspiration from the mods, another said he wasn't impressed at all.

One user said: "fire build."

Taking inspiration from the motorhead, another user said: "I wanna make my car exterior look sick but I feel like I'll get judged because I don't have anything under the hood."

And a less impressed TikToker said: "hell no, bro, cheap and doesn't look good."
