I transformed my hallway for under £50 using B&Q & Facebook Marketplace finds -people can’t believe how amazing it looks
A DIY enthusiast has left people amazed after sharing how she gave her dull hallway a glow-up on a budget.
Giving your home a makeover can oftentimes be a shock to your wallet - however, one thrifty woman recently proved it doesn't always have to be the case.
Instead of spending a fortune on renovating her hallway, the bargain-hunter, only known as @carbootisfull on TikTok, upgraded the narrow space ''for under £50'' - and it's all thanks to budget-friendly deals from the high street and online.
Looking back at her hallway before the glow-up, the DIY fanatic said she'd found herself with a rather ''weird habit of having too many rugs on top of the carpet''.
Props to your uncle, what a gent.''

Once these - a red one and a grey one - were removed, her uncle then carefully got rid of the base carpet, ensuring to not touch the carpet grippers in the process.
''I was told when I moved in here that they had a leak previously and that's why the carpet looked a bit discoloured,'' she added in the video.

After the underlay had also been removed, the duo assessed the situation and started to clean the concrete flooring underneath, which was full of dirt.
''I think the previous tenants had pets here as well because I found a lot of hair,'' the thrifty woman said.
''It also felt like I didn't stop hoovering for a while.''
With the base now clean, the craft fanatics set off to apply the underlay they'd purchased from B&Q, where the cheapest option retails for £13.20 per pack.
''This was really easy to cut and shape, put a bit of tape to keep it down.''
Meanwhile, to go on top, the money-smart shopper had decided to use light grey flooring, which she had spotted on Facebook Marketplace for £20 for two packs.
''The hardest part was measuring the corners,'' the woman added, noting that the rest of the process was relatively simple.
''I'm lucky my uncle is very good at this.
''Had to take the door off because it was really hard to get into the corners - let me tell you, that was hard to get back together.''
Despite the little frustration here and there, as well as the ''sweat'' of working, the results looked incredible, as she thanked her uncle for helping her.
''For a grand total of £42.55, sweat and frustration I have a fabulous laminate floored hallway.''
It wasn't just the woman who was delighted with the glow-up - dozens of social media users raced to comments to praise the work.
One person was so impressed, they even considered paying the uncle for renovating their home.
''He made a good job! Is he free next Thursday?''
Someone else agreed, adding: ''Looks amazing, love the colour, your uncle has done an amazing job.''

''Props to your uncle, what a gent,'' another chimed in.
''Very nice, but it would irk me that it doesn't match the floor in the other room!'' a fourth penned.
