I was influenced to buy Skims by the girlies on TikTok, the $118 set was sheer and that wasn’t the worst part
A STYLISH stay-at-home mom has been left disappointed after ordering a viral two–piece black outfit.
She was excited to try on her latest order from Kim Kardashian’s Skims website after seeing other fashionistas rave about their purchases.
Shelby (@shelby.quiroga) shares outfit inspiration and sweet moments from her life in Houston, Texas on TikTok.
She took to the social media platform to share the items in her latest Skims shopping haul.
She ordered the black long-sleeved cotton jersey T-shirt which cost $54 and is available in sizes ranging from XXS to 4X.
The foldover pants come in six different colors for $62, but Shelby opted for black to match her top.
The fashionista was visibly eager to open her order as she revealed it wasn’t her first time shopping with the brand.
“I was influenced by the girlies on TikTok,” Shelby said. “I’m really excited, I like love Skims.
“I got the top in a medium. I really like the cotton jersey it’s so soft.
“And the pants, the foldover is very 2000s.”
She held up each item and gushed about the fabric before trying them on.
Suddenly the viral Oh No soundtrack by Kreepa began to play in the background as the Skims haul took an unexpected turn.
“It has a hole,” Shelby said as she showed where the side of the top had torn.
“And the pants are see through, are you kidding?”
She looked speechless as she showed the wardrobe malfunctions from different angles.
“What a bummer,” she captioned the post.
The video went viral with over 7,000 views and many likes from people who were grateful that she posted an honest review.
A top commenter said they were “so sorry” and advised Shelby to request a refund for the items.
The mom revealed she returned the set and chose a selection of other items from the brand instead of asking for her money back.
"Crazy thing is I got the set on sale lol from $118 and I paid $90ish. I did return them and picked a few other pieces," she said.
The post comes after another TikToker ordered a similar outfit from the brand in a lighter color.

She bought a two-piece set from Skims in the color stone after receiving a gift card for the brand for her birthday.
She tried to convince herself that the outfit could be styled for fall despite a glaring issue with the pants.
“I really like this set,” Angel said.

“It is a little bit sheer though so maybe I should’ve got the navy color. I think there’s like a darker blue color.
“Maybe I just need the right underwear for it. It’s still perfect for the fall and would go so well with Uggs.”
