BBC BREAKFAST fans are demanding a major show overhaul as they fumed the 'BBC is broken'.

The flagship programme brought viewers the latest news and weather from across the UK.

Jon Kay and Sally Nugent were back on the iconic red sofa as they co-hosted the show, while Carol Kirkwood was on weather duties.

While covering the headlines, the anchors also drew attention to Shetland's Up Helly Aa fire festival and the latest Lottery jackpot win.

However, viewers at home weren't impressed and demanded Jon, 53, and Sally, 52, brought them 'actual' news instead.

Raging on social media, one fan described BBC Breakfast as 'gloomy and repetitive'.

The disgruntled viewer said: "Another no news day, lets have a chat about the lottery."

A second posted: "Does #BBCBreakfast just run the same stories? Feel like the same story has been on for the past week."

"#BBCBreakfast formula - extended interview about a disease or condition. Human interest story about disease. Fraught political interview about financial issues but strays into disease. Light entertainment. Weather. #brokenbbc," said a third.

While a fourth commented: "I never don’t regret putting #BBCBreakfast on the TV, even if only for five minutes. It’s all death, disease, bad weather & sport."

It's not the first time viewers have slammed BBC Breakfast's format, with complaints flooding in once again earlier this week.

Fans had demanded show bosses axed a segment permanently as they fumed to 'give it a rest'.

Sally and Jon had welcomed the winner of The Traitors series two to the studio for a sit down.

Harry Clark joined the pair after scooping over £95,000 on the smash hit BBC reality show.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
