These days, you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own sofa to try glasses on, with many brands offering virtual try-ons.

Universally square sunglasses are the shape that suits everyone. 

They’re one of the most versatile shapes and you can get them in a range of sizes, from oversized to smaller square versions, depending on your preference and how they sit on your face.

Oval

If you have an oval face shape then you can pretty much wear any style of sunglasses - you lucky thing!

This is because you have a mix of soft and angular lines.

Therefore you can be more adventurous - so oversized shades are perfect.

Square

Square faces have a defined jawline, meaning your face is quite angular. 

Therefore the advice often given is to go for sunglasses that can soften your face - such as pairs with curved or round edges.

So when it comes to square glasses, look for pairs that aren’t as angular, and that while still keeping their square shape, are slightly rounded on the edges.

Round

Full cheekbones and a rounded chin make up a round face. 

It's recommended that you contrast your face shape when it comes to sunnies, so in this case you want to lengthen your soft and curved features. 

Square glasses are perfect for this - however, don’t go too oversized as they could then overtake your whole face.

Instead, opt for smaller square frames that are bordering on rectangles.

Heart

Heart-shaped faces are wider at the forehead and narrower at the chin.

With both soft and straight lines, hearts can pretty much wear any style they please.

Wayfarer sunglasses can be especially flattering, as they’re horizontal across the top with a rounded bottom, giving a square-like feel without being too angular.

Pear

A pear-shaped face is said to be the reverse of a heart face, where your jawline is longer than your forehead. 

Square sunglasses are great for enhancing a pear's features and balancing out the proportions of your face.

Look for sunglasses that are in the middle of the oversized Vs small spectrum. 

They cover enough to be just below your eyebrow and finish just above the midpoint of your nose.
