Hong Kong Observatory forecasts warmer weather, high humidity next week before temperatures hit 14 degrees Celsius

Hongkongers should brace for warmer and muggy weather as the Observatory has predicted humidity levels may reach 100 per cent over the next five days, before temperatures gradually cool down to a low of 14 degrees Celsius (57 Fahrenheit) in the following week.

“Under the influence of a maritime airstream, the weather will be humid and foggy over the coastal areas of Guangdong in the next few days,” the weather forecaster said on Sunday. “It will be rather warm during the day.”

Starting from Monday, the relative humidity is expected to range from 70 per cent to 100 per cent. A reading of 85 per cent or over is defined as “humid” by the Observatory.

Temperatures are forecast to peak at about 26 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be sunny periods throughout the week, but the weather will mostly be foggy, with possible rain patches.
