Brighton vs Man Utd LIVE SCORE: Ten Hag’s side visit South Coast as both clubs look to extend winning starts – updates

  • Devils in the skies

Manchester United took to the skies for a 25-MINUTE flight to Gatwick ahead of their weekend clash with Brighton.

The Red Devils are visiting the South Coast side for their second fixture in the Premier League campaign.

But, rather than hopping on the train or braving the Bank Holiday traffic on the roads like most of their fans travelling down for the game, Erik ten Hag's side made the journey by chartered jet.

Manchester United stars arrived at Manchester Airport on Friday afternoon to board their blink-and-you'll-miss-it flight down to Gatwick, believed to last under half an hour.

The distance between the two transport hubs is exactly 176.01 air miles.

  • What is the team news?

It's unclear whether Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler will hand debuts to new signings Brajan Gruda and Georginio Rutter this weekend.

Gruda, who completed his switch from Bundesliga outfit Mainz, wasn't quite ready to feature against Everton because of a "small injury," while £40million forward Rutter will need time to “integrating” into the set up following his arrival from Leeds.

Solly March, Bart Verbruggen, Evan Ferguson, Pervis Estupinan, Tariq Lamptey and Julio Enciso remain sidelined, but Yankuba Minteh could return after serving the six-day concussion protocol.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has a few absentees in Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Rasmus Hojlund, but will make late calls on the availability of Victor Lindelof and Jadon Sancho.

Summer signing Joshua Zirkzee could spearhead the attack from the off having netted the winner against Fulham on Friday night. Alejandro Garnacho and Matthijs de Ligt could also find themselves in the starting XI.

  • Welcome to Brighton vs Man Utd

Erik ten Hag's Manchester United travel to the Amex Stadium for a lunchtime TODAY - and it is not to be missed.

But they'll arrive as underdogs with the bookmakers despite their victory over Fulham on the opening day of the campaign.

Joshua's Zirkzee struck late to give the Red Devils a much-needed three points and get their 2024-25 campaign off to the best possible start.

Overall, United deserved their victory having generated 14 goal attempts, an xG of 2.43 (bettered only Liverpool and West Ham last weekend) and limited their opponents to just two efforts on target.

But there were a few occasions where they were exposed in midfield and Fulham let them off the hook with some poor decision making on the counter.

United were wasteful in front of goal with Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno making several key saves - mostly from captain Bruno Fernandes. That will need to improve against a very impressive Brighton.

The Seagulls, now managed by Fabian Hurzeler, dispatched Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park while conceding just one effort on target in 90 minutes.

The hosts will also be buoyed by the arrivals of two new signings in Georginio Rutter and Brajan Gruda, both of whom could make their debuts if deemed fit enough.

United won this fixture on the final day of the 2023-24 campaign, but prior to that had lost their last FOUR Premier League games against Brighton.
