In the video posted to YouTube, Tom told fans that he was going to headline a show at The Capitol Theatre, which he described as his local home theatre and where he's performed countless times.

Tom said: "Tonight, in front of 500 people, I get to perform. It's fully sold out, I can't wait to get on the stage and sing some songs that I love," as he shows fans behind the scenes footage during his rehearsal.

One fan commented: "Tom, you are looking great!!!"

Whilst another added: "I am VERY happy to see this!!! You don't have to win a talent show to reach your dream!!!"

"Such a pleasure to watch you blossom into a super star. You are amazing!," penned a third.

Fans also noticed another change in his appearance, with a few commenting on his new hair.

One fan wrote: "I miss your curly hair!"

Whilst another added: "I LOVE your curly hair, please don't straight them down!!!"

Tom sported his new short brown hair and wore a black button-up t-shirt, looking noticeably lighter as he sang at rehearsals.

On BGT, Tom finished third, behind comedian Axel Blake and ventriloquist Jamie Leahey.

Britain’s Got Talent star reveals he was left jobless and without a record deal after finishing as runner-up - but music legend 'saved him'

He later joined America's Got Talent All-Stars in 2023 where he came third.

On the show, current BGT judge Amanda Holden branded him: "One of the best singers the show had seen in 16 years."

Looking back on the immediate aftermath of that series, former school teacher Tom acknowledged it was a scary time with no guarantee of a successful singing career.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, he says: "You leave not really knowing what's going to happen. You have this incredible time and you're constantly buzzing off of those moments you remember.

"For me, it was really scary. I handed in my notice as a teacher; I had to, because they had to find one to take over my job.

"I didn't have anything after BGT. I didn't have any focus on how I was going to make a music career at that time and I also didn't have a teaching job at that time so it was really quite nerve-wracking.

"Luckily, I wasn't in that situation for very long. Jay, my manager, without him I don't know what I would do. He is truly a mastermind planner, organiser and a great, great friend."
