I’m a council estate teen mum – trolls come at me but I’d rather be that than a stuck up kid living with their parents
A YOUNG mother has revealed that she is a proud council estate teen mum.
She shared that trolls will come at her for being a beauty therapist, but she’d rather be that than be a stuck-up kid still living at home with their parents.
Jess Chambers, 19, gave birth to her daughter Lyla-Mai, via a c-section, back in November 2023.
The young mum explained that she lives in private council housing, and she and her partner both work so that they can live there.
Posting on social media, Jess filmed herself laying in bed as she shared: “I’d rather be the council estate teen mum that is a beauty therapist than a stuck up cow that still lives with their parents and relies on their paychecks rather than getting her own job.”
She then added: “Just saying.”

Jess later confirmed that people have "slated her" for "having a baby".
But despite the nasty comments, she penned: “I’m the teen mum and me and my partner work hard to provide for our child.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @jesschambers14, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 83,400 views.
But social media users were left divided at Jess’ clip - while many could relate to her, others were keen to disagree.
One person said: “Jokes on them. I had my baby at 19, now I’m 33 and moving into my third dream house while some are still having their tea cooked my their mam at home.”
To this, Jess replied: “You’re winning girl!
"Honestly it makes me laugh how they can call us for having kids so young but their parents still make their bed.”
Whilst a second added: “This is so real!”
However, at the same time, not everyone was on board.
One user wrote: “Live at home with a job and save instead of relying on the council to house me for free? Nothing wrong with that.”
Whilst another shared: “So you judge them too while also relying on the council? Makes sense.”
In response, Jess explained: “I don’t rely on the council, I WORK! I have a business.
“The only help I get is money for my child that every person in this country gets.”
Another mother wrote: "Don’t generalise all people that haven’t left home yet."
Meanwhile, another TikTok user asked: “Your house was given to you by the council no?”
To this, Jess then clapped back: “No I’m private. So therefore it isn’t GIVEN.”
She also confirmed: “Me and my boyfriend work to live there.”
