Mass stabbing in DC with multiple victims rushed to hospital as cops block roads near Capitol & urge public to stay away
MULTIPLE people have been hospitalized after a mass stabbing in Washington DC.
Police swarmed the scene and have closed multiple blocks less than two miles from the US Capitol.
“We have units on the scene of a stabbing incident involving multiple victims," police confirmed to The U.S. Sun.
Seven people were taken to the hospital, local ABC affiliate WJLA reported.
Police said they have one person in custody as of 4:15 pm.
MPD spokesman Tom Lynch told local CBS affiliate WUSA that none of the victims have died after the stabbings.
All of the victims are adults.
A post on X by the Metropolitan Police Department alerted followers of a "stabbing investigation" that's taking place Montello Avenue and Simms Place NE.
The department wrote in a follow-up post that a press conference will occur soon.
Live footage from the crime scene shows caution tape lining the street with police officers crowding the area.
Onlookers can be seen standing around the scene and talking with police officers.
