My couch cushion still smelled bad after washing it – I used a trash bag hack to get it good as new with minimal effort
A "CLEANING freak" has revealed his tip for fresh-smelling couch cushions.
Throwing covers in the wash can often leave them with a bad aroma.
But his trash bag hack sorts that out with minimal effort.
By the time you are finished, couch cushions will be as good as new.
Brandon (@cleanthatup) gamely ignored all references to flatulence and cushions in the comments section.
Though it clearly was an issue for some of the thousands of commenters.
Brandon is a janitor and confessed "clean freak" and he has a huge TikTok following of 1.7 million.
He shares helpful cleaning tips, tricks, and hacks on his platform.
He's a popular figure, but this video went viral with 437,000 likes.
“How to remove odors from furniture cushions," he said beginning his post.
You will need:
- Smelly cushions
- White vinegar spray
- Garbage bags
- Vacuum
“If you have a cushion that you’ve cleaned but still can’t get the stink out, try this," he said.
“Spray the entire cushion with a deodorant. For this, I’m using white vinegar."
Next, he grabbed a garbage bag and put the cushion inside.
“Take your vacuum and place it against the cushion and suck all the air out," he wrote.
“Once the air is out, tie it up and let it sit for four to five hours."
When the time was up, it was time to see if his hack worked.
“Take it out and let it dry and now your cushion should smell much better.”
There were lots of jokers in the comments section.
"How do I do this to a teenager's whole bedroom?" asked one parent.
Another person wanted to know if it "worked on people as well."
