Savvy shopper Shellie Potts took to Facebook to share her incredible find, posting that Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Cookie Dough and Vanilla Brownie ice creams are available at Heron Foods for just £2.

Considering these indulgent tubs usually set you back £5.20, it’s no wonder fans are losing their minds.

One delighted commenter on Shellie’s post commented: “My favourite” – and they’re not alone.

This exclusive summer promotion has shoppers rushing to their nearest Heron Foods to bag the deal before it melts away.

Bargains

But that’s not the only bargain causing a stir.

Another savvy Facebook shopper shared her latest sweet-tooth bargain.

In a post on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, a shopper shared photographs of their savvy finds.

All of the items shared were usually priced at £1 but had been reduced by 90 per cent to just 10p.

This included a three-pack of Chocolate Orange Daim bars, Chewitts Xtreme Sour Apple Laces, and Lindt chocolate bars.

The Lindt chocolate bars are 95% cheaper than what you’d pay at major supermarkets like Tesco, Ocado, and Asda, where the bars are going for £2.15.

Watch Mark clear the shelf of discounted cheese

Of course, with prices slashed this low, availability can vary as stores clear out excess stock.

It’s always a good idea to call ahead to your local shop to check what they’ve got in stock.

Meanwhile, earlier this week shopper Leanne O’Brien took to Facebook to spill the beans on the summer deal which could land you everything you need for your next movie night for a fiver - but there's a catch.

Leanne posted on Facebook: "With a Co-op member card, £5, 2x pizzas, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, and a movie on them.”

Co-op members get a free Amazon Prime movie when they bag this sweet combo deal.

This deal comes after Co-op shoppers were raving about their dirt-cheap summer steals, including pizzas selling for as low as 54p for members.

One thrilled customer boasted on Facebook: "Just got this lot for just over a fiver in Co-op."

With her membership, she nabbed 50p off any Pepsi product and £1 off her entire shop, plus some reduced-to-clear items.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
