Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs apologizes after video of him ‘beating Cassie’ – says he went to rehab after ‘hitting rock bottom’
SEAN "Diddy" Combs has broken his silence and apologized days after a shocking video was released showing him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie in 2016.
Combs apologized for his actions that were featured in the video in a post shared to Instagram on Sunday.
He started out the video saying it is "so difficult" to reflect on the "darkest times of your life.
"I was f***ed up," Combs said.
"I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.
He continued, "I take full responsibility for my actions in that video."
"I'm disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it and I'm disgusted now.
Combs went on to reveal that he sought out help following the 2016 incident.
"I went and I sought out professional help and had to go to therapy, had to go to rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace."
The rapper apologized for the actions featured in the gut-wrenching video saying, "I'm so sorry."
"I'm committed to being a better man each and every day."
He ended the one-minute apology by saying he was not asking for forgiveness.
"I'm truly sorry," Combs said.
The apology comes just days after disturbing surveillance footage was released, showing Combs assaulting Cassie, born born Casandra Ventura.
In the shocking clips, Combs is seen holding a towel around his waist as he chased after Cassie in the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
She was seen waiting for an elevator with multiple bags.
