Three-second trick that ‘eats’ calluses’ will fix up your feet between pedicures – you need a 25-cent grocery buy
A CLEVER woman has shared a quick trick to remove any calluses from the bottom of your feet.
She said that it's a useful tip when you're in-between pedicures and all you need is a 25-cent grocery item.
Anne Caserta (ceo_of_randomness) is a health and wellness fan who shared useful hacks online to look and feel your best.
In an Instagram Reel, she revealed a nail hack that will take care of your cuticles without a trip to the nail salon.
If there's one item to stock up on while at the grocery store, it's limes.
Fresh limes are easy to come by and cost 25 cents at your local Walmart.
That's exactly what Caserta used when she demonstrated how it also acts as a nail aid to remove calluses.
"In between pedicures, you can do this," she said.
All you need are two items and three seconds.
She gave a before and after of the results within the less-than-ten-second video.
First, cut a lime in half and rub it on the callused area of your foot.
Then, while it's still wet, take a file or callus remover and scrub it.
You can visibly see in the video how her big toe went from dry and bumpy to smooth and moisturized.
"Save some lime for my margaritas afterwards!" a viewer joked.
Many people agreed with Caserta and thought it was a good idea.
Dr. Catherine Chang in a TikTok said citric acid in lime is a good exfoliant and also suggested half pineapple juice and half water.
Bishr Al-Dabagh, MD, MBA also reinforced the effectiveness of the technique because "foot skin is thick," but they wouldn't put it anywhere else on their body.
Although they thought it was a good technique, others in the medical world were not so convinced.

Dr. Pimple Popper said it's better to squeeze limes in your drink than on your toes in between pedicures.
In a TikTok video, Dr. Sasha Haddad said you should never use lime or lemon on your skin.
The reason is because "it's very acidic and can actually, irritate and cause some scarring," according to the family medicine doctor.
