Love Island in huge show shake up as legendary part of show is AXED
LOVE Island has axed its iconic Casa Amor from the upcoming All Stars series in a huge show shake-up.
With the Love Island spin-off series hitting our screens this time next week, many of us are ready to watch some of our show favourites on their quest for love.
However, the highly anticipated spin-off has made some brutal changes.
The Sun can exclusively reveal that the famous villa swap will no longer happen as bosses have decided to make this legends show feel very different to the regular series.
Love Island executive producer Mike Spencer explained that the decision was partly to mix things up for All Stars, and partly due to the series’ shorter run.
Mike told us: “We aren’t doing Casa Amor this time, but there may be another big twist at the halfway mark. I think we have got to be reactive.

"These islanders have done it before, so we have to be one step ahead.
"Not having Casa gives us a way to shake it up and bring in new islanders in different ways. We have four new single pull-down beds in the living room this time around, so make of that what you will!”
He added that All Stars’ more compact five week-run, compared to the regular series’ eight weeks, also influenced the decision to scrap Casa Amor.
Mike revealed: “Casa Amor, as we know and love it, doesn’t really work for a five-week run because you need time to bed in, get to know each other, see if they are for you and if you want to switch it up.
"I think you don’t need the element of bringing a massive influx of new islanders in. That is good for an eight-week run but you don’t need it for this.”
This doesn’t mean, however, that this is the last we will see of the legendary second villa.
An insider told us: “Casa Amor certainly isn’t gone for good and will return for the summer series, but it just didn’t make sense for the non-civilian show.
"As this run is shorter, the pace will be faster and the show will really hit the ground running. These All star islanders have a lot of shared histories, so expect the chaos and the drama to happen much quicker.
“Ultimately, the format is very different on All Stars because producers want to make it feel fresh, exciting and unpredictable.”
Of course, this isn’t the only big change in store this series.
Last week, we revealed that spin-off show Aftersun is being rested for All Stars, and will instead be replaced by an extended main show where host Maya Jama will interview the islanders outside the villa as soon as they have been booted out.
An insider said: "It means Maya will have even more screentime which will thrill viewers, who can't get enough of her, and also that there will be loads more reaction from the All-Stars the second they get dumped.
'Maya will be getting all the goss, fresh from the firepit.”
Aftersun has accompanied the main show on Sunday nights since 2017.
Like Casa Amor, it is expected to return in the summer.
