One savvy shopper sparked a frenzy online after sharing the legs of lamb they got for a bargain deal.

Taking to the money-saving Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, Stephen Mills shared the two giant legs of lamb he managed to pick up for less than £5 each.

"Legs of lamb festive bargain from Asda," he captioned the photo.

In the picture, the legs of lamb had been marked down with a yellow sticker, going from almost £14 down to just £4.24.

Prior to the sale, each kg of meat was worth £7 - meaning he saved a total of £10.

People were seriously impressed by the deal, but it seems Stephen wasn't the only person to grab a bargain while shopping at Asda.

Another woman shared a picture of her giant smoked ham joint which originally cost £13.28.

However, thanks to the post-Christmas rush she was able to bag it for just £6.64 instead.

The best part is that these products can be frozen for a later day so the bargains won't be wasted.

It seemed that plenty of people couldn't wait to go to their local store and see what surplus food had been slashed in price.

But you better be quick if you want to grab a bargain as the surplus Christmas food won't last forever.

One person wrote: "Wow well done."

Another commented: "Get to Asda."

"Why do we miss these," penned a third.

A fourth said: "Why can we never find these."

Meanwhile, chocolate lovers have been rushing to get hold of tins of family-favourite chocolates slashed in price.

Asda has slashed the price of its tubs of Quality Street, Celebrations, Roses and Heroes to just £2.25.

Shopper can't believe their eyes at the bargain price, and it appears to be the cheapest around.
