Wealthy car enthusiast to sell collection of showroom-ready motors worth £2m that have barely been driven
A WEALTHY car enthusiast is selling off his collection of showroom-ready motors that have barely been driven.
The unnamed businessman amassed 26 modern classic cars that he’s bought from new or nearly new - but now all but five are set to go.
Worth an estimated £2million, the fleet of Porches, Ferraris and Mercedes have been kept in a purpose-built, climate-controlled garage at his home in Lincolnshire.
Amazingly, hardly any of them have been driven and, with the vendor now suffering from ill-health, they’re being sold off in mint condition - although he plans to keep his five most favourite cars.
Reportedly, the motors are to be auctioned in stages, with the first five going under the hammer on June 23.
They include a 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster that's capable of 152 mph and has just 4,168 miles on the clock.

The stunning red convertible is one of 2,056 ever made, and is valued at £180,000.
A more-modern Porsche is also set to sell - a 2021 example 718 Cayman GT4 - which is one of just 2,500 in the world.
The luxury supercar has a miniscule 208 miles on its odometer and is priced at £160,000.
A very rare Morgan Aeromax from 2009 is also to be sold for £100,000, with 3,106 miles on the clock.
Joining them is 1991 Ferrari 348 TS selling for the comparatively cheap price of £42,000, alongside a retro 1981 Mercedes 200 (W123).
Auctioneer Jonathan Humbert said: "There are 26 cars in the fleet that belong to a businessman who has done very well for himself.
"It is a truly remarkable private collection.
"The vendor bought them either from new or fairly new and has barely touched them.
"He has had them just to look at and has kept them in a large purpose-built garage with underfloor heating.
"To drive one he has to move six cars out of the way so that may be why he hasn't really driven them.
"They represent some of the very best of modern classic cars at absolutely unrepeatable mileages and sensibly priced for today's market, which we anticipate will be of interest to collectors and investors worldwide."
The cars are being sold by Humbert & Ellis Auctioneers of Towcester, Northants.
