How to remove patio weeds in 1 hour and only spend £1 – according to gardening whizz
A GARDENING WHIZZ has shared a £1 hack to make your patio weeds disappear in one hour.
With temperatures climbing and summer almost upon us, many of us will be finding ourselves spending more time in the garden, soaking up the sunny rays.
However, after a winter of neglect, our patios may be looking a little worse for wear, with pesky weeds poking through the cracks.
Weeds are notoriously hard to get rid of, but one gardening fan has found the perfect solution - and it's super cheap.
Posting in the Mrs Hinch Gardening Tips Facebook page, one user revealed that she was able to make her patio weeds disappear in just one hour.
She said: "Omg I have just sprayed my weeds on the patio with vinegar, salt and washing up liquid solution and within one hour they were dead.

“It’s amazing, I can’t believe it worked so fast. I’m absolutely delighted. I used just under four litres of water, a cup of salt and one tablespoon of washing-up liquid.”
“I first heard about this on another gardening group, didn’t expect results, but it worked so well.”
Other group members raced to the comments section of her post, to rave about this method.
One person said: "I can totally agree.
"Tried this and worked within an hour. Amazing.”
Another user said: “I used undiluted vinegar on the weeds that were popping up through my monoblock paving and it did the trick.
"They've not returned.”
A third said: “It works, I use it all the time.”
"That’s all I use.”
All of the ingredients in this method are extremely cheap, and making the mixture likely won't cost you more than £1.
You probably already have many of the items in your cupboard.
Salt is a great natural alternative to toxic weed killer.
It works by increasing the levels on ions in the soil and increasing osmotic pressure, which means the weeds will be unable to absorb water and will dry out.

White vinegar works in a similar way, as the acidity of it breaks down cell walls and removes moisture from weeds.
Washing up liquid does not work on its own to kill weeds but improves the effectiveness of the formula by holding the salt and the vinegar on the weeds.
