Tesco has made a major change to its Clubcard scheme and it’s good news for pizza lovers

TESCO has made a major change to its Clubcard scheme and it's great news for pizza lovers.

Customers can exchange their points for money off drinks and food at PizzaExpress until the end of April.

Points can only usually be exchanged for food at the chain, which has hundreds of restaurants across the UK.

Any Clubcard points exchanged for money off at PizzaExpress are worth double, so a £1.50 voucher will save you £3.

Tesco said it was launching the offer as it marks 30 years since the Clubcard was launched.

The retailer said more deals will be launched over the coming months for customers signed up to the loyalty scheme.

Ashwin Prasad, chief commercial officer at Tesco, said: "We are delighted to have teamed up with our friends at PizzaExpress for this special Clubcard promotion to allow Clubcard members to raise a glass with their Clubcard Vouchers, and it’s just the start of what we have planned.

"I’d encourage Clubcard members to keep an eye on the Clubcard section of their Tesco app to ensure they don’t miss out, because this could be the best ever year to reward yourself with Tesco Clubcard."

The latest announcement from Tesco comes after it launched a trial offering Clubcard customers personalised discounts.

As exclusively revealed by The Sun, the grocer is giving selected customers the chance to save money on products through "Your Clubcard Prices".

Customers chosen to be part of the trial will receive new offers into their app every Wednesday.

They can then pick them up in the larger Tesco branches, but not via Tesco.com, Whoosh or smaller Express stores.

Millions of Clubcard customers can also get bonus points between now and March 9 after Tesco re-launched its "Clubcard Challenges" game.

Eligible customers have been invited to participate via email or through a banner on their Tesco Clubcard app.

How does the Clubcard work?

Around 23million UK households have a Tesco Clubcard, which first launched in 1995.

The retailer says Clubcard Prices, offering discounts on certain products, can save customers around £385 a year.

The loyalty scheme works by rewarding customers with points every time they shop in-store or online.

Shoppers get one point for every £1 spent on food, or one point for every £2 spent on fuel or via Tesco Mobile.

Once you reach 150 points, you can cash them in for vouchers worth £1.50 which can be used to get money off a future Tesco shop.

But you can also spend the vouchers at a number of Tesco's rewards partners, and they're worth double.

The full list of over 100 rewards partners is on the Tesco website, including Disney+, Thorpe Park, Cadbury World and PizzaExpress.

You exchange your vouchers for a Reward Partner code which is then valid for six months.

You can apply for a Tesco Clubcard for free via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

RECLAIM LOST CLUBCARD POINTS

MANY people lose or forget to use their Tesco vouchers, but there's an easy way to claw back the last two years of unused vouchers.

Here's exactly how to find out if you have any unused vouchers.

The first step is to log into your Tesco Clubcard account on Tesco.com or via the Clubcard app.

You'll need your name, email address and Clubcard number to hand.

Once you've logged in, navigate to "My Clubcard Account" and then click on "Vouchers" to see a full list of any vouchers you still have to spend.

You can use the code included in your voucher to spend online.

If you want to redeem them in-store, you'll need to print them off and take them with you.
