I’m 51 with flawless skin – my free ‘rubbing’ hack will help banish wrinkles 10x quicker and give you a glow-from-within
A SKINCARE whizz has shared the 10 second “rubbing” hack that helps her maintain a flawless complexion.
Kat James may be 51-years-old, but she has flawless and glowing skin thanks to a simple application trick that anyone can try.
The “rubbing” hack is designed to activate any face cream, serum or oil so that it works double-hard to deliver benefits.
Kat even believes that over 99% of people aren’t doing it, meaning their lotions and potions aren’t working anywhere near their optimal potential.
“I’m not trying to brag, but I am referred to as a skincare expert,” she said.
“I do have great skin - and here’s one of the things that I would say 99.7% of you are doing incorrectly when it comes to skincare.

“I’m not trying to call you out - sorry, this isn’t personal.
“I am hired to help.”
Kat’s hack for making your skincare products work ten times harder - whether it be an SPF or night cream - involves rubbing them between your hands before applying to your face.
This is a process known as emulsifying.
When you warm a skincare product between your hands, you ensure the ingredients are well mixed and ready to work their magic.
“Not only will it make your skincare perform more effectively, it also activates the product and it will penetrate a lot better,” Kat said.
“It just will overall improve the performance of your skincare, whether it’s a day cream, night cream, serum or SPF.
“You should be emulsifying your product before you use it.
“Emulsifying is simply warming it up in your hands before you apply it.
“It will make such a tremendous difference.
The importance of sun cream in your skincare routine
Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez - known as Dr Dray - revealed why you should wear suncream.
The one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference - and this matters for all ages - is protecting your skin from the sun, Andrea stressed.
"The vast majority of external aging is due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation," she continued, not because you're "not using some jazzy serum or layering 90 different things on your face everyday".
"If you're not doing in your 20s, get on that now."
But she said the use of sun cream alone doesn't go far enough. Andrea urged that you also wear sun-protective clothing like broad-brimmed hats and long sleeves, on top of not staying out too long in the sun.
Doing this over your lifetime - and all year, not just during the summer or on sunny days - "will reduce the visible signs of photoageing", Andrea said.
Those are wrinkles, muddled pigmentation and sagging skin.
“It really, really changes the way your skincare performs.”
That means your favourite anti-ageing creams can get to work on banishing wrinkles even quicker if you emulsify them beforehand.
Wrinkle-busting products with active ingredients, such as vitamin C serums or retinoids, can be more effective when emulsified.
This is because the warmth created when rubbing your hands together can help the actives seep deeper into your skin.

Furthermore, some products (especially those that contain both water and oil components) need a little help to combine properly.
Emulsifying them in your hands ensures that these components mix well, providing a more even application across your face.
