Sporting Lisbon 4 Man City 1: Ruben Amorim produces tactical masterclass to make huge statement ahead of Man Utd move
RUBEN AMORIM could well be the man to bring the glory days back to Manchester United after masterminding a sensational win over City - with help from hat-trick hero Viktor Gyokeres.
The manager is set to join the Red Devils at the start of next week and his rehearsal could not have gone better as Sporting won 3-1.
Man City went in front after just four minutes when Phil Foden scored and they looked set to add to their lead.
But against the run of play Gyokeres scored and it was 1-1 at half-time.
Amorim's side went in front as Maximilliano Araujo converted a great team move just seconds after the break.
And goal machine Gyokeres then doubled their lead minutes later from the penalty spot following a Josko Gvardiol foul.
City then got their own spot-kick - only Erling Haaland to hit the bar.
And it was penalty galore as Gyokeres then completed his hat-trick and scored his second penalty after a foul by Matheus Nunes.
