Nick tore his entire Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during a dress rehearsal on the show.

The telly star landed badly while performing a jump and it led to his and pro dancer Luba Mushtuk’s withdrawal from the BBC competition.

Nick wrote on X: "For those of you who have had knee surgery you’ll know that first step the next day is quite a challenge but amazing it IS the next day thanks to a brilliant surgeon.

"The trick is then staying patient when you want to be up and about.

"I am not naturally a patient person."

Nick says he's determined to get back to 100% fitness by August 2025 in time for his wedding to fiancé Katie Dadzie.

He's set to rest until February before starting work on a new series of the BBC's DIY SOS.

Nick previously told The Sun:  “I’m really hoping I’ll be back on my feet by then, although I won’t be fully recovered until August next year.

“We’ve booked our wedding for next summer and the plan is for us to be able to do a first dance.

“It won’t be a full Strictly routine but I’m determined to have a special dance with Katie.”
