I bought a 27-piece set at Salvation Army for $7 – I didn’t know what I had, now I’ve sold a single piece for $85
A SALVATION Army shopper was shocked to learn that an item she bought for $7 was actually worth hundreds.
She profited off the surprise value buy, selling one part of it for $85.
Vintage shopping guru Jolie (@jolieflipsvintage) has an eye for quality antiques and a passion for sharing them.
While at Salvation Army, she picked up a bin filled with “awesome brass cutlery” that she thought beautiful, and paid around $7.50 for it.
“That was six months ago. I didn’t know what I had,” she said in the clip, suggesting that she didn’t know what they were worth when she bought them.
“I’ve got four knives, one huge serving spoon, one sauce spoon, six smaller forks, seven big forks, six small spoons, and one shrimp fork,” she said, counting up the 27 pieces.
To prove her luck, Jolie then flashed images of the same vintage cutlery sets that were for sale online.
The item is called the Vintage Brutalist Cutlery Set by David Marshall and is from the 1970s.
But the craziest part? One seller listed his 57-piece set for $4,405, while another listed his for $3,867.
In the caption, she emphasized that she was just a clueless shopper when she stumbled upon her $7 deal, writing: “I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT I HAD.”
Viewers couldn’t believe Jolie’s luck.
“How does it feel to be God’s favorite?” one person wrote.
“Big score wow. Amazing. Congratulations,” added another.
When a third person suggested she sell single pieces for $100-$250 each for those owners who need to complete their sets, she admitted she already started to.
“I did sell a fork for best offer of $85,” she wrote proudly.
