Michelle Trachtenberg ‘dies at 39’ after Gossip Girl and Buffy the Vampire Slayer star shared troubling posts
GOSSIP Girl actress Michelle Trachtenberg has died at age 39, according to reports.
Trachtenberg rose to fame as a child TV actress, starring as Nona Mecklenberg on the hit Nickelodeon series The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
The actress was found at around 8 am on Wednesday at an apartment at One Columbus Place on Central Park South, according to the New York Post.
A cause of death was not immediately disclosed.
Trachtenberg's death is not being investigated as suspicious, the outlet reported.
Last week, Trachtenberg posted a look of her's from an awards show with the caption, "I wanted to look like naughty."
Over the past few months, fans have noticed her thin frame and asked the actress if she was okay.
Just days before her reported death she shared an image of herself on Instagram with the caption "the warmth before the storm."
Fans quickly flooded her comments with concern, saying "as long as it isn't a heavy storm."
The actress began her career as a child, starring in The Adventures of Pete and Pete as well as playing the lead role in Harriet the Spy.
As she matured, Trachtenberg continued to make recurring roles in TV shows, most notably in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where she played Buffy's sister, and Gossip Girl, where she starred as the character audiences loved to hate, Georgina Sparks.
