Hong Kong set for 8 straight days of rain and occasional thunderstorms from Sunday
Hong Kong will be wracked by eight straight days of rain from Sunday, the city’s forecaster has said, with the influence of the southwest monsoon also expected to produce occasional thunderstorms.
The Hong Kong Observatory said Sunday would see cloudy weather with occasional showers, with rainfall getting heavier and accompanied by a few squally thunderstorms at some points in the day.
“A broad trough of low pressure is expected to bring heavy showers and squally thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea in the next couple of days,” the forecaster said.
“Under the persistent influence of the trough of low pressure, there will still be showers over the region in the middle and latter parts of next week.”
