Grey Dawning moves a length clear over the final flight.
But he's idling up the run in!
It'll be between Ginny's Destiny and Grey Dawning!
The pair jump two fences out as one!
The front three are disputing jumping three out!
Zanahiyr and Facile Vega left behind but trying to stay on.
With six to jump, Ginny's Destiny has a length lead to Djelo and Grey Dawning.
Zanahiyr in there and Facile Vega trying to stay on.
Facile Vega not great over the first in the home straight first time around.
Ginny's Destiny still takes them along and there's a big cheer from the crowd who send them on their way for the final circuit.
Grey Dawning disputing second.
Ginny's Destiny has company in Djelo jumping the first two.
Zanahiyr tracks those two with Grey Dawning next.
Facile Vega just worse than midfield.
The third day of the Cheltenham Festival is underway with a roar!
They're walking in as the atmosphere picks up.
A bit of rain arrives too...
Grouped together and they're all looking to follow Ginny's Destiny.
Tightening in the betting at the top.
Grey Dawning now FAVOURITE as they arrive at the start.
Two-and-a-half miles the trip over the big obstacles.
EXCLUSIVE: Some great picks from Templegate and Matt Chapman yesterday.
Here's where they're looking for the opener:
Templegate: GREY DAWNING can just edge out Ginny’s Destiny in what should be a real cracker. There is little between them with Ginny’s Destiny actually coming out on top when they met here in December. But the Skelton runner made one bad error two out that put him on the back foot before he charged up the hill for a close second.
Chappers: Now the mud has come I’m with another Skelton hope in GREY DAWNING. This Desert Orchid look alike has always had plenty of talent and looked good as a hurdler at Warwick in heavy ground. He was back at that track last time when hacking up from Apple Away and he looks primed to run a huge one here in conditions that will bring his stamina to play.
To build those bet bank balances!
Paul Nicholls told Betfair the tricky conditions will play into Ginny's Destiny's favour.
And punters are listening, as that one is now well supported ahead of the start.
He said: "All the rain at Cheltenham will help Ginny's Destiny who relishes testing conditions. New to us this season he has made phenomenal improvement since his first run over fences in October.
"We really fancied him last time under top weight when he did what Stage Star did in the same race a year ago. He has won his last three races at this track and I can't wait to run him."
Willie Mullins now starts his quest for 150 Cheltenham winners and is hoping winner 101 comes in the first here.
Here's what he told his website on his two runners:
Facile Vega steps up in trip but we don’t think that will be a problem. He’s a course winner and will handle the ground. He’s been working well at home and should be a big player.
Sharjah will like the trip but the testing conditions won’t suit.
And the odds with Sky Bet for the Turners to get us started!
A disappointing non runner in the feature of the week.
Hewick will NOT run in the Boodles Cheltenham Gold Cup tomorrow, with Shark Hanlon insisting the ground was too soft for him to do himself justice.
Hugely sad for connections.
A word from our racing guru Templegate on today's racing, following Matt Chapman.
The big news from this morning was that Sir Gino has been pulled out of tomorrow's Triumph Hurdle.
A real shame for Nicky Henderson whos week goes from unbelievably bad to somehow worse.
More on that story here
Paul Nicholls didn't have a great day yesterday, putting it lightly.
But the champion trainer has a few very live chances to get on the board today and will be hoping the bad scope of Stay Away Fay yesterday doesn't impact his runners today.
On Ginny's Destiny in the 2.10, he told Betfair: "He hasn't achieved what we hoped over fences so he was back over hurdles last time at Chepstow where he qualified for this final. I'm trying blinkers on him first time which should help sharpen him up a bit. He will handle the conditions and has a sporting each-way chance."
Here at Sun Racing, we know the majority of punters do so casually and won't be forking out huge stakes.
So we go in search of a bit of value, getting big rewards for smaller stakes.
Here's what the team have come up with today.
LONGSHOT - current 28/1 shot!
RAPPER (5.30): He came right back to his best when second in good company at Ascot last time and is on a fair mark over trip and track that really suits.
EACH WAY THIEF
CUTHBERT DIBBLE (2.10): He is in fine form for the Twiston-Davies team and likes this distance. He has every chance after winning his last three outings.
NOBLE YEATS (3.30): Won the Cleeve Hurdle nicely last time and has strong claims in the Stayers’.
ONE HOUR TO GO!
After hitting 100 winners last night, it's a case of 'how many more' Willie Mullins will hit this week.
Just one chance for him in the 2.10 Pertemps final today - a race he's NEVER won!
He told his website: "Icare Allen goes for the Pertemps Final Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles. We’ve been aimimg him for this race for quite a while.
"He stays well and needs a test of stamina which he will get here particularly on the soft ground. We have never won this race but maybe this fellow will break our duck."
