‘This is nuts’ says shocked Lorraine Kelly as she’s surprised with prestigious Bafta award live on air by Susanna Reid
LORRAINE Kelly was left stunned today as she received a TV Bafta Special Award live on air.
ITV stablemate Susanna Reid was on hand to announce the prestigious honour to mark Lorraine's four decade long career.
GMB star Susanna sneaked onto the set while Tyler West went through a fake report about The Traitors with an unknowing Lorraine.
The host was left glancing uncertainly around the set as Susanna emerged from the screen at the back of the studio.
Upon receiving the news, Lorraine exclaimed: "This is nuts!"
"Where’s Ant and Dec? This is a prank."

She added: "This is lovely. I'm absolutely thrilled to bits. Goodness me."
When Susanna entered the studio with a golden envelope, she told Lorraine: "It doesn't get much bigger or more serious than this."
A tentative Lorraine said: "I'm frightened."
In an awards first, Susanna explained that Lorraine was being honoured for her decades in the industry, her life-changing campaigns and charity work and would receive the gong in a ceremony ceremony on May 14 at London's Royal Festival Hall.
It could be a Bafta double this year for Lorraine, 64, with her show also nominated in the Daytime category alongside Loose Women.
This Morning was overlooked in the category after a year of turmoil that saw longtime hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby leave the show.
Lorraine got her first gig in front of the camera in her early 20 as an anchor for TVAM in 1984.
She has hosted a number of high-profile programmes and live events including Good Morning Britain, This Morning and The Sun's Military Awards.
Lorraine was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) after being named on the 2012 honours list for services to charity before being promoted to Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 202 for services broadcasting, journalism and charity.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, she is worth £4.6 million.
Lorraine lives in a stunning seven-bedroom mansion worth £825,000 with cameraman husband Steve Smith, with whom she has daughter Rosie.
The impressive family property boasts an outdoor hot tub and wine cellar.
