Heartbroken Jane McDonald opens up about fiance Eddie’s sad death and admits ‘I still talk to him’
HEARTBROKEN Jane McDonald has opened up about her fiance Eddie Rothe's sad death and admitted 'I still talk to him'.
The TV favourite was left devastated when Eddie passed away from lung cancer three years ago.
As a new year dawns, Jane, 60, has admitted this time of year hits her hard as she reflects on the loss of Eddie and her mum, who passed away three years before him.
She told OK! Magazine: "I do shed the occasional tear and especially at new year. That’s when it hits me.
"If the two of them are looking down on me, I honestly think they wouldn’t want me to be lost in sadness wondering what to do with the rest of my life."
But she added: "I still talk to both of them in my head."

Jane has leaned on her best friend Sue Ravey since Eddie's death, with her best friend moving into her lovely home near Wakefield last year.
Jane - who has appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with Sue since she moved in - said: "It helped keep the grief at bay, I tend to grieve in private.
"But you can’t always be sure when it’s going to strike. Your emotions can ambush you."
Jane previously opened up about Eddie's final weeks, telling the Daily Mail: "It wasn’t slow, because we didn’t know. He had no symptoms.
"As daft as it sounds, I’m thankful it was during Covid because I was there with him. Nobody else was."
However, she added: “But that was the hardest thing. I had no nurses or doctors come in. I had to learn how to do it all myself.
"I had him at home as long as I could. Then I took him to the Wakefield Hospice, which is a beautiful place."
