Abby (@a_lil_bee) went viral on TikTok after sharing every step of the project, which cost her less than $40.

She shared a photo of the decaying water feature in her backyard before going to Dollar Tree in search of decorations.

“So we’ve had this non-functional water fountain in our backyard for over a year now,” she said.

“I wanted to do something fun with it.

“I went online to look for ideas and saw these super cute fairy gardens and knew exactly what I wanted to do.

“First I went to Dollar Tree and bought a bunch of their fairy garden figurines.”

The 27-year-old browsed through pictures of fairy gardens on Pinterest before getting to work on her own.

Dollar Tree sells miniature houses, fairies, and other garden decor for just $1.25.

The store also sells a soil alternative that expands up to 10 times when mixed with water.

“My boyfriend and I cleaned out the water fountain,” Abby said.

“I bought four of these expanding soil alternative packets and my boyfriend mixed them with water while I worked on the figurines.

“I got the idea to add a stake to the figurines from another TikTok because they’re so small and light.

“To add the stakes, I bent some paperclips and super glued them to the base of the figurines.

“We then added the soil to the water fountain.

“We spent like 15 minutes arranging and rearranging the figurines plus added some little rocks as paths to each home.”

Abby said she was “very happy” with the finished results and shared a desire to add lights for a “magical” feel.

She also spoke about the possibility of visiting other Dollar Tree stores to add other figurine designs to her fountain.

The video racked up almost 28,000 viewers and racked up hundreds of likes from impressed people.

Commenters praised the revamped fountain, with one person describing it as “cute” and another saying “awesome upcycle.”

“Plant clover in there,” one person suggested.

“Love this idea!” Abby replied.
