Three injured after Iowa school shooting

Three people have been injured after a school shooting in Iowa.

Officers said there is no further risk to the public.

According to NBC, the shooter is believed dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot and may have been a student.

The three injured include two students and an administrator.

The shooting took place at about 7.30am local time at Perry High School. Today was the first day back for students after the Christmas break.

Perry is about 40 miles northwest of the state's capital Des Moines.

The high school is part of the 1,785-student Perry Community School District.
